Ya'll ever been stung by a bee? What about in the eye? Aaarrgghh!!! The areas an abandoned railroad bed running between an orange grove and some swampy state land. I expect the Osceolas to be roosting in the mature cypress and flying down into the grove. The orange trees are blooming now, it smells really good out there, and there are a bunch of bee boxes out there, so they can pollenate the blossoms. I brought my dog along to roost turkeys with me and he was panting bad because it's hot, so I leaned out of my truck to listen better and when I did, the damn bee flew right into my left eye! I tried to swat him away, but he stung me in the freakin' tear duct!!! I poured a bottle of water into my eye hoping to flush out the stinger and bug guts (cause I smashed the little bastard), then drove off to my folk's place and got my little sister to pick the remnants out of my eye. Hurt like hell!!! She got the stinger out, thank God!!! Anyway, I'm narced out on pain killers and benadryl. The left eye was swollen shut for a long time and running tears like crazy, but it's much better now and I can see out of it at least. Still swollen some though. Turkeys was safe this morning!

Man you probably ought to keep an eye on that! Seriously thiough watch the swelling and color. When it is half way healed wash it out with Johnson's No More Tears Baby Shampoo. Just squirt some in there and use warm water to clean it out really well. The rest of you ought to keep a bottle of that on hand for when you get dirt and such in the eye. I've used it to wash out infections and circumvent "Pink Eye" in just a couple of days. Or you could just do this:

Dang Toby, that just downright sucks. Turkey season is too short to be having days ruined like that.
I lived 3 years down in far South Ga., and them stinging bugs during hunting season is 1 thing I dont miss.
Hope it heals quick enogh to get back out there after them birds!
