Any Kentucky state park (they are some of the best and prettiest in the country), Red River Gorge (hike in only), Some of the places I travel to in Kentucky for deer hunting.

If I have to pick one spot out of all the places I thrown a bed roll it would have to be atop the Greenbrier Mts in WV...just up from the VA border along side the GW National Forest..over looking the Gorge with the GB River running at it's bottom...one of the prettiest places on this earth...shot the rapids in a homemade wooden runner canoe with my brother and BIL (at the time)...got a $50 fine for that stunt ;D ;D ;D ;D

Grouse Ridge. Just a mile or so north of Donner Pass in the Sierras. Too bad it's in Ca.

Deer Creek is nice. Lots of amenities and things to do in the neighborhood. Relly nice for a family.

Doen on the Sabine River below Toledo Bend Lake, the sandbars are white, over half mile long, and the only thing you see is wild game, and maby one or two person all week long.
