Pretty much any recipe that calls for whole milk works. They come out a good bit richer. Puddings, breads, cakes, egg dishes, gravies, cream soups (especially potato soup)! Watch it when you pick up the cans though. Evaporated and Condensed look a good deal alike; but, Condensed has been sweetened! ;D Chuck is correct. If one has an aversion to sugar one also has an aversion to carbohydrates and both must be managed along with the rest of the nutrient intake.

Folks, Mandy is not diabetic, just a little pregnant. Her Dr wants her to cut way back on the sugar though because of the danger of temporary diabetes.

Like dad stated im not diabetic, but the sugar level has to be low, there is also the risk that i might end up with type 2 diabetes.

Mandy, and Brian...to maintain low sugar, stay away from potatos, rice, and pasta....substitute cauliflower and other green veggies.....rice the cauliflower, steam it and melt a load of cheddar cheeses on top...use the riced cauliflower, add butter, heavy cream salt and pepper to taste, and you have mashed potatos....take dycone radishs , cut into the shape of french fries and fry in virgin olive oil...salt ,pepper and any other spice you like......in my other posts, use ground pork rinds instead of bread crumbs...add salt pepper and spices to your taste........avoid al items which include enriched flower...like white bread...eat only whole grains....and for heavens sake, remember your eating for two,but you must eat healthy.......... and if that fails....call me and I'll come cook for yah!!!! ;D

She's got a point there Steve. Besides, you'ld probably melt. One thermometer says 98 right now and the other says 102. It depends which is older I guess. The weatherman says it's only 95.

Mandy
I've recently attended a diabetes seminar and diabetes or the borderline of is serious business while pregnant. You defiantly need to talk to a nationalist .Because even some fruits and veggies are loaded with carbs that break down to blood glucose [ sugar in the body.]

Mandy, I back up what Chuck said....be carefull with all the fruits and veggies......fruits do contain sugars and some veggies, like corn, peas, and onions also contain higher carbs then the others....good veggies to eat are carrots, celery, cauliflower, and broccoli...the others I mentioned, only in moderation....
