I don't know if you guys are interested, nor even if this rifle is legitimately an 1860 model or a reproduction, but I thought I'd put this up here.
The gun is near Ocala, Fl. and I came across this ad in the Ocala4sale.com website and thought I'd pass it along.
"THREE BAND ENFIELD! 1860 dated Three Band Enfield, with British Crown. Same type gun sold to Confederate States in Civil War. One of the first BREECH LOADERS. Believe to be .69 caliber. Wood in very good condition, not all cracked and dried up, few dings, scrapes; metal has silver patina, no original finish left. Very good condition for age. $1200.00 or best offer. Call: 352-546-2074"

Sounds like it is a Snyder. The Snyders were converted 1853-pattern "Enfields" but none saw US servie. They were created in the later 1860s through mid '70s. They were still .577" rifled however unless this is something else or the barrel is worn out and the guy thinks it was a larger smooth bore. Snyders in good shape sell for about $800-$1000 around here in TN if that is what he has.
