Craig Barry, associate editor of "The Watchdog" & contributing writer to "Camp Chase Gazette" sent this to me this week;
As many of you may have already heard, Jim Lammers of Cedar Creek Supply Depot passed away suddenly on Wed. Jim was a fair man to do business with, offered mostly "made in the USA" goods, including his own hand made boots and accoutrements. The business was coming off a hard year financially, and due to a pre-existing condition, Jim did not have life insurance. This leaves his wife, Linda, and daughters in a tight spot.
My plan is raffle off a P-53 Enfield, the one Todd and I were working on for Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation. We will need to run this through The Watchdog address due to the goofy TN raffle laws. Tkts will be limited to 150 @ $20 each, and I wanted to give you boys first dibs. Details will probably be posted on the Camp Chase website shortly.
This P-53 is one Craig and I are jointly de-farbing. He was going to raffle it off for the Cedar Creek site as he did a couple years ago, but now will offer it to help this family. All I have done on it is the barrel. He is doing the rest, and I think is installing a few original parts on it as well.

Doggonit I hate to hear of that family's hard times. I surely do want a ticket, but I'm hard up for cash right now...been a bad month so far, but when I get straightened out, if there be any left, I'll be good for one Shi.
You know how badly I want to win one of your Enfields!

Watch Camp Chase Gazette next month. Craig said he'll have details in it. That's all I know myself at this time. When I find a link I'll post it. The 9th KY unit still has the one I did 100% but can't figure out how to raffle it legally. TN's raffle laws are hard to figure out and TN takes about 1/3 of the profits in taxes.

Send the rifle to a more "friendly" state and have it raffled there! Maybe even Las Vegas or an Indian Nation.

Here is the raffle info. You are getting this before they go public in the magazine. This is direct from Craig Barry.
Send $20 per ticket in the form of a check written out to The Jim Lammers Memorial Fund. Mail to The Watchdog, PO Box 1675 Warren, MI 48090. We will mail them their raffle ticket. We are limiting sales to 150 tkts, first come first served. All proceeds go the widow and family.
