I can't make this one Danny, but I'll be there next year for certain! Was looking at a van a buddy has for sale last night. It is a Ford Econoline with a 172 K on the clock 91 model I believe. Nothing fancy; but firm, clean, rust free and drives tighter than a deertick sucks hide! It was a State vehicle that he maintained in his garage and he bought it at auction. He had just completely redone the front end, shocks, and new tires just before they auctioned it off. Great shape!! Thinking about packing all my gear in it and locking her up and using her just for road trips!

Take the wife to Michigan! It is totally rustic with no facilities of any kind. She'll hate you, then feel sorry for you when you want to go next time! ;D

I really liked Michigan. I used to fly into Detroit Metro on business......hit the surrounding towns via(I think it was rte 75 on the east) across the top of Detroit till I hit Telegraph road then south to the city and back to the airport heading for Chicago.... My wife still has relatives in Hamtramick......All Polish. Its funny the Afro American population there speaks Polish also!!! If anyone remembers them,I was a rack jobber for a school supply and stationary company, selling goods to the now defunct E.J Korvettes Dept stores.......

Pawclaws, No way with the wife. She's in a wheelchair and it and rustic camping don't mix very well. I have taken her camping before but to her it's got to have a toilet with grab bars or she won't go.

OOOPS! Yes sir, that would make it rough. I guess you are just going to have to break down and put together a custom built tailer there buddy! Does she like getting out to camp and do stuff like that?

She likes camping alot, it doesn't like her very well though. ;D. I made up my mind that she will come if I myself can get time off to go. For the first time in my life Iam going to go look at tents. She has a portable commode so that won't be a problem and we should have no problem finding an Army type cot for her to sleep on. It won't be like I'm used to but it'll work. Our two daughters won't be a problem at all in fact I probaly couldn't even go without my oldest as a shadow.

Off to Wally World Huh! ;D You know with the wheel chair you might be better off with a tent that has no floor in it. The dometype tents are the least expensive tents for the size but have sewn in floors that add to the structurea lintegrity of the tent. The walled canvas outfitter style tents offer more room, without a sewn in floor. Usually they just have a ground cloth sewn in. That is a border at the bolttom of the wall that is usually about a foot to a foot and a half wide that you can cover with soil, snow, or straw to keep the wind from blowing underneath. They run a little more per square foot, usually have no interior partitions, and are a good bit heavier than the modern dome tents. Cabella's has some nice ones in their catalog. You might even consider the Civil War Sutlers. Those 10 lb canvas tents are available with treated canvas that is flame retardent, water resistant, etc like the outfitter tents but might be found in a little more variety, size, and style and better suit your needs. Occasionally I see decent used gear on Ebay. You might want to check that out after you figure out what you want. Also check with your Rent All and see if you can get something there to rent. Might give you a chance to try a particular style before you decide to buy. So you think there is a chance you guys might make the Michigan thing?

I think we will see what Cabela's has online, beats wally world anyday. Thanks for the idea! Local rental don't carry tents unless it's those big ones used for a dozen or more people. Military GP larges and such. I still have to get time off from my part time security job. They might not like it but so what. I haven't missed a day or taken time off in three years. My full time jobs not a problem as they only work monday-thursday. I hunt Michigan every year for deer but not even close to that far north.

Sounds like a plan! Be glad to meet you and yours in person. Wait until you meet Coffeeman's crew. Great family. Chuck Fish and Rick Kube will be there also. Don't know who else. ;D I was kind of leaning on DaGriz but I don't think it did any good!!
