I've been trying to get a rifled barrel for the Remington for ten years! As a matter of fact I started 3 Remingtons ago! (Done gave two away. Seems as though everythime I go to get one they are out or on backorder, etc, etc, etc. I did finally get a smooth bore slug barrel though!

ET, looks like you need the mossberg this deer season unless you are planning to fire slugs out the shot barrel. I don't know if you could or can find a CD slug barrel seperate. If you need the mossberg for sure then let me know and I'll bring it in to work. We'll have to hit Tri-County SOON!!!

I've had an old 12 guage double barrel shotgun in my closet for quite a few years. It was given to me and I accepted it graciously but have not really ever looked at it.
I got it out this morning and discovered that it is an LC Smith with double hammers and triggers. I think it is a field grade because the serial # 135959 ends with the letter F. There is no engraving on the side plates other than LC Smith.
It is a sawed off Coach Gun with 20" barrels. Hunter Arms Co. Makers, Fulton NY is stamped on the left barrel but there are no markings on the right barrel.
It looks like the barrels have been apart and then welded back together.
What do you think? Is it worth anything?

The LC Smiths were great guns and yours is more than likely a field grade. Sounds like someone made a bunny or partridge gun out of it by cutting down the barrels. Had to say what it's worth, but I would venture to say not a whole lot in the condition you decsribed.
For the war buffs out there, fulton NY is just outside of Utica and Herkimer which are all on the old Erie Canal / Mohawk River and were homes to Remington, LC Smith, and Savage arms. I believe Springfield also had an operation here, all due to the waterway access East and West.

Jerry,
I kind of figured that. It is in pretty rough shape. I guess that's why the guy gave it to me. Oh well, it looks okay in the gun cabinet and I bet if it could talk it would have some great stories.
I looked up the serial number on the LC Smith site and it was built between 1930 and 1938.
