Exactly right. Well I started doing inclined push ups off the kitchen counter. That doesn't seem to bother the knee or hurt the toes too bad so at least I'll get some exercise. Might be able to do some trunk twists and windmills too. Have to try to do some dynamic tension stuff for the legs to keep them from wasting away. Actually the muscles around the knee are better off than when I first injured the knee. Some very low impact exercises would be great for the legs and knees both I think. Man I need a swimming pool something fierce! Knee is better this morning. It got a heat treatment and an ice treatment both yesterday and responded very well to both. Toes aren't hurting. As the foot heals I can see a bruise across the tarsals and metatarsals where it looks like I literally stuck my foot under the leg of the exercycle which accounts for the distance it traveled when I made contact. I wouldn't recommend it as a routine practice.

ya want some low impact leg excercise..get some of them wide rubber band stuff they use at the therapist's, sit in a kitchen chair, loop the band around the bottom of your foot and push it away from you...you do this by slightly bending the knee take up the slack and push, as your leg and knee improve you shorten up the band or move up to a heavier band...it also improves the range and motion...imedately after the exercises put ice on the knee until it feels a bit numb and then apply heat...I had to do this at home after my knee surgery... to make the right shaped ice "pops" fill 12 oz paper cups about 3/4 full with tap water, cover with plastic wrap and then insert a Popsicle stick, freeze till solid...this works well, with the stick you can control exactly were the cold is needed most and its just the right amount of ice to numb up the joint....in no time at all you'll be up dancing the Charleston...you can use these bands for a lot of different exercises..like lateral arm curls...by hooking it to a door frame and pulling your arm in toward the body etc.

Sounds doable. How long were you doing the exercises before the knee didn't feel pain and wobbly? I have periods of "normal feel and function" but it doesn't last long (maybe twenty minutes or so) which concerns me. Well we have snowfall today. Soft white powder with less than an inch so far. I've got to get myself into town and get some groceries before this sets in for any length of time. Damned gas tank is down to 30 percent which means I used 27 percent or 135 gallons in 27 days.

Well I did a fifteen minute walk. Liked to killed me! Did my pushups, twists, and windmills. Then I iced down the knee and that liked to kill me too. Then I iced down the toes and found "five breaks" or at least bumps I took for breaks. Three in the metatarsals and two in the phalanges. They are still a bit swollen but have almost returned to normal color and the nails appear to be OK. Just shaped a little bit different! Snowing like a bitch! Must be three or four inches of dry powder down. Cousing says the roads are really slick.

First off what I went through with this friggin' knee was pure hell..spent more than 9 mo tethered to a full leg cast...6 mo on crutches and another 6 mo with a cane after the damn thing was removed...the cast went from my hip to my ankle didn't cover any part of the foot and weighed in at a snappy 60 pounds. I spent about a year going to therapy and another 6 mo doing the exercises at home...I would cheat and walk around the house with out the crutches about 3 months out of the cast, just not to far or to fast

I am really hopeful I can get this thing back in shape without surgery. Scares the hell out of me. The stability is pretty good now but after extended periods of standing or short periods of walking, like maybe five or six minutes. it swells back up. It doesn't hurt until I try to bend it after it has swollen. So if I'm really really careful I can avoid the pain by letting it settle down after working it.

I aint no expert but have had some training (beware) but that sounds a whole lot like a torn or fragmented (split) ligiment only xrays at a minium and an MRI for sure will tell you...them things are never right after that, but surgery is really the only option get you butt to a doc and have him/her check it out...'cause if you keep dicking it around you'll only make it worse...

Here is something a few of you got to see. It is pretty much a fun thing to do. Virtually everyone who filled one out on me said I would take a cast iron pot/fry pan to the desert island. Only one person got my eye color right, whom I've never met in person. As to the number of kids?.... Well your guess is as good as mine! Feel free to copy it and send it to your friends. It's a hoot! Okay, this one is different - this is funny. YOU fill in the blanks about ME and send it back to ME. But FIRST send a blank one out to all your friends, including me, so we can return the favor to you. Be honest. They're really SCARY to get back. It only takes a few minutes, so just do it! First send (forward) this survey to everyone you know to see how well he or she knows you. Second, hit 'reply' and fill this survey out about the person who sent it to you and send it back to them: Where did we meet?_________ Take a stab at my middle name?________________ Do I smoke?______________________ Color of my eyes?_____________________ Do I have any siblings?__________________ What's one of my favorite things to do?_______________ What's my favorite type of music?_____________________ Am I shy or outgoing?____________________________ Am I a rebel or do I follow the rules?l____________________ Any special talents?___________________________ How many children do I have?_________________________ If you and I were stranded on a desert island, What is one thing that I would bring?_______________________________

Close Major! But then I would expect no less from an officer! Rogie I think you are right Tobey brought the girls and that tub of green Jello too! You are probably right there Freddie "LYNN" Hill. Major we'll fix that chicken problem when I get my 20 inch DO! Well boys and girls the knee went to bed last night and was the most comfortable it has been since it was injured. All day yesterday and getting in and out of chairs and moving about was near normal. Not a lot of discomfort at all; Thank God, Keep the prayers coming and I'll keep on working it and icing it down. Man, TT that worked terrific! The toes are much better now as well. I can move all but one of them without pain. Won't be long before I'll be folding them down and "cracking" them again!
