Already out down here. I know of three folk who brought home a bread sack full each. Hints, don't look for mushrooms; look for tiny spongy spots, tips, yellow grey color in brown color, (shhhhh) Look under yellow poplar trees close and in behind dead and down logs or trunks rotting out!

I always thought I was a pretty moral hunter. I never shoot at females of the species with suckling young, or foul which are nesting...that's a moral hunter ain't it? -Rogue-

Shrooms are all gone here now. Me and the oldest boy got two wall mart sacks full. Ate three batches and put the rest in the freezer. We mainly fry them. Some times I will put a little boullion and butter on them, wrap in foil and cook on the grill just like button mushrooms. Saute in butter and fix with spagetti sauce. You can cook them any way other shroom can be cooked. I have been wondering if anyone else have ever found the big red morels? They look like the morel but dark red and solid. They grow big too. Two of them will feed 3 of us and 6 regular folk.

Cousin Jimmie reports that he is up to 161 shrooms found so far. He is going back out today to a patch that generally provides a hundred plus. He says he has a spot near his house that always comes in late with as many as two hundred. He gathers all of the edible varieties and is pretty good on identification of the poisenous varieties; at least he ain't dead yet!

Mike went out with Martin's friends dad for an hour or so. They came home with about 70.
