I've got tons of magazines, dvd's, books, etc that they might enjoy to break some of the monotony of being there. If you have any addresses, I'll get some packages out. I'll toss in bags of hard candy and other treats for them as well.
I used to do this each month, but all my buddies over there are now over here. So help me out and get me some addresses, okay? ;D ;D ;D

Frank maybe able to help you with that. The one that I sent three boxes to during Christmas is in the states as far as I know. That is a great thing for you to do. I sent several packets of Crystal Lite or Wally's have their brand and it is not heavy to send. I got the boxes at the Post Office that you can send anything in them for less than $15.00 per box and I sent 3 of them and stuffed them full. Sharon

;D Toby, I to applaud you for your efforts.I don't know if you have ever heard of the Mack Bolan paperbacks by Don Pendleton but I sent my entire collection to Iraq to names that were given to me by my local VFW and a few I got from fathers on other forums,that I sent to their sons. Toby, Besides what you offer,which is much,they also appreciate like you said,hard candy(especially Wirthmans), chapstick and Ramen noodles. I would urge all those wishing to send items to contact their local VFW or American Legion. I hope we don't forget the troops in Affganistan....It's the same war in a different location. for them all! snake-eyes

If you want, a package can be sent general delivery. Example;
Any U.S. military person Afghanistan or Iraq
Or you can be more specific;
Any U.S. Army soldier Iraq
Or;
200th Army Corps all personel Iraq
We recieved quite a few so addressed in Desert Storm. Your Post Master should be able to help.

Thanks guys! I'll try the VFW and send a box addressed like you suggest Mars.
The guys at the archery shop are still bringing me their magazines and such and it's starting to pile up. I live a few miles from the Russel Stover candy store and can get the bags of hard candies for pennies. They all seemed to really appreciate them.
Too many folks are forgetting that our boys are still over there and as near as I can tell; their getting fuqed by the government. Moral's got to be getting pretty low....

Toby, And the main stream media ain't helping one damn bit to help morale even a little bit.They did the same thing with Korea and Viet Nam. Main stream media sucks when it comes to supporting the military,and it is a shame.IMHO God bless our troops. snake-eyes ;D ;D ;D ;D

Toby, I will get my old address from Mommy and send it to you, if you would like to send them to the team that replaced me in Afghanistan. Hunting, Fishing, Shooting and Outdoor Mag's are hard to come by over there in the PX and I would share what I got but still ended up reading mag's for 3-5 years ago, even this was great. This reminds me that I need to email some ladies that sent us some knit hats and socks; I cannot remember ever having a pair of socks that felt as good as the pair I got from a lady here in Ohio. They were doing this thing called “socks for solders”. From someone that just returned from the litterbox, I commend you for doing this. What I would recommend adding to the box: some good jerky, individual packets of cool-aid or drink mix. We can get candy bars there but it is always the same things: snickers, reeses, and chocolate bars; things like Heath bars, Watchamicolits, baby-ruth and such are only sent in boxes. The Chap Stick can be picked up from any medic or TMC, other things to think about are: canned meats, crackers and cheese. I wish to thanks all that did send things to anyone in the litterbox, I wish I could tell everyone just how much it meant to get. I am very proud of how “Most Americans” are standing behind and supporting the troops, I just wish more would stand in front of them that are not supporting them. One other place you can get addresses is from your local Guard units, they will have names of units deployed. Thanks again for all the support.

Another thing you can do is take magazines to the VA. Since I have years of hunting/shooting/outdoor related mags around I have been doing that and the guys love them.

I just sent out a big box to Any US Army unit in Afghanistan, with help from a guy at the Post Office.
Frank, if you'd get me that address, I'd be honored to send th boys a little reading material. I also get some hunting dvd's from time to time I can throw in if you think they'd enjoy them.
I'll appreciate the help!
Bless you and all your fellow soldiers! ;D ;D ;D

It's getting toward the first of the month again and if you have an address to a specific bunch of guys, feel free to share it otherwise it'll go out to any US Army personel again.
I just don't want to take a chance on it going out general delivery, only to land with a rear area unit with lots of stuff to keep them occupied. Some of the more remote bases is where I'd like to see it go ideally.
Got lots of hard candies, about twenty magazines, body wipes, and chapsticks in this box
