Three Floridians were arguing over who's house is the coldest. The argument gets pretty heated and they agree to visit each other's house to decide who's really was the coldest.
At the first house, the Floridian throws a glass of water in the air and it freezes before it hits the ground. They all agreed that's pretty cold.
At the second house, the Floridian lit a candle and as the flame froze, he broke it off and showed it to the others. They agreed that that was really cold.
At the third house, the Floridian walks the other two into his bedroom and throws back the blankets on his bed revealing three balls of gray ice. He picked one up and carried it to his stove where he bagen to warm it and after a minute, the other two heard, "Pffffaaaarrrtttt!!!"
And it was agreed that his house was the coldest!

FL. is not in much better shape than us...freezing crops and etc. and I heard them say that they were going to get more cold temps before the winter is over!!
Faith, you better head to Mexico...it is warmer there.
I thought it was to down in the single digits on Sat, night?? But more snow and it feels, acts and looks like we could get a ton of the white stuff.
I need to fill the bird feeders...they are eating more than I am at this point.

It's twenty degrees outside right now and well down around 17 or 18 by daybreak. You aren't going to warm up coming here Faith...no one would be more welcome, but you'll be dissappointed if you're wanting to warm up. Unbelievably....I just sold a load of roosters with FROSTBITE!!!! I've been in livestock all forty of my years and NEVER saw a chicken with frostbite! Their combs and waddles were turning black and crusty and it's from all of this hard freeze we're experiencing these last two weeks. Citrus and strawberry growers are taking it hard!!! The EPA banned smudgepots for grove heating and now all the trees are dying. It's unbelievable, the damage that's being done to our Florida farmers. If you have any extra prayers...send them to Florida's farmers!

You have lived a "warm" life with livestock then Toby as frostbite is common in chickens and even chicken farmers. I have had and always will have frostbite. If you didn't know, humans never heal from frostbite, just the symptoms heal. I have a couple of frostbite decombed roosters that occured a month ago. You have to watch as some idiots will say the combs were removed for cock fighting.

What the hell happened to global warming. Damn it,Al Gore, where are you at when it gets very, very cold. Hawaii, most likely, making your predictions for global disaster. Central Ohio is exspecting,(Columbus) 4 to 6 inches of snow starting at 9am and ending between 5 and 6 PM.Well I leave for work at 8pm so hopefully the snow trucks will have done their job.I live on a Court and if I can get off it I am usually good to go. snake-eyes

Good Luck!! If, it weren't for the hills down this way things would not be so bad. I think everyone is bracing for what is coming this way for the next several days. After the snow comes the very very cold temps.
My daughter had to go get her daughter from work last evening and she was passing by the area where the homeless calls home and she said a block away is a "Rich" block and she was so sadden having seen the poor struggling and then the rich rejoicing in their warm homes. She says that there are not enough shelters and the Salvation Army is doing what they can, but it doesn't seem to be enough. LIFE!!
I know there are a great deal of Vets that are homeless and that is very sad after having served our country and living on the streets. There was a community of homeless somewhere around Columbus, as I remember reading about it in The Columbus Dispatch a couple years back. It seems it was by a creek??

Heck Sharon, I still have 3 rolls of film on the kitchen counter from last years ice storm that need developed!! He has a camera phone. But we don't have text service, so we can't send/receive pics. He called in yesterday from Owensboro, KY. They're coming up stream and have been babying leaky barges caused by ice flows/debris for the past 4 days (since Paducah). They hoped to drop off a couple of the leakers today. They're still about 40 miles below Louisville and won't make it to Ironton until probably early Monday morning. Being the "old man" of the deck crew, capt'n put Mike on Call Watch. So he only has to be out in the weather when really neccessary.

Snow! Snow on the ground in Florida!!!!
That's twice now in my lifetime. It's not much on the ground, just a very light covering, but it's all melted off now. Really cool to watch it floating down in tiny little flakes. ;D

Want me to send some more snow Toby? We got another 3 inches of white chit today. Had to take the shovel to the chicken house roof 'cause it was starting to sag from all the dang snow. I have one spot between the house and the henhouse that I keep swept off between snowfalls. It's out in the open and not prone to any drifting. So far, total accumulations from the past 2 weeks have totaled just shy of 16 inches. It'll be a swamp around here next weekend. Suppose to get up to 42-degrees. River will be running high and swift for Mike. Seems like he can't win for losing.

;D Yeehaw, it's back in the fifties today and supposed to be back in the luxurious eighties by Saturday.
It was sixteen degrees on the porch when I left to pick Tammy up for a hunt in Pasco County on Sunday. The cold was brutal and I hated it, but I did kinda like that heavy snuggling in the blind, lol.
Anyway, the day ended with two bucks on the tailgate and it never got above twenty eight the whole damn day!
