Howdy All... I've been chumming for carp and even though I never keep any I have a blast catching fish that average 6-10 lb each and many in the "teens" I simply boil field corn for one hr, 100 lbs for $10.00 is the norm... Toss it out in one big pile come back the next day and hold on to your reels... Great way to keep the kids happy and into huge fish too have fun, Clyde

Ha! Ha! Well I guess this will be tellin' everybody just how poor I grew up but, what the heck! If you take them and filet them out but cut below the dorsal fin about a half inch first making your incision the length of the fish and leaving that half inch or so with the waste you will have removed the dorsal vein. After that the filets can be used just like perch and are really good. Cook them with that dorsal vein in it though and it tastes just like Shit or mud. Hence the nickname for the dorsal vein; "mud streak!"

I'm with you atrkyhntr. No eating for me. I have access to much better eating!
They are fun to catch though! I was trolling for walleyes in Lake Erie a few years back when I thought I snagged up. After the snag started pulling back, I realized it was something big. What I had hoped was a world record walleye, turned out to be a 27 lb carp. That was one big, fat fish.
