Just curious whether you guys and gals are still drowning bait or polishing up hunting gear! ;D I'm gonna dust off a couple rods and try to sneak in a few hours fishing in Idaho here in a couple of weeks. ;D Would love to participate in the elk hunt but by the time the drive is done I'll have near a grand in the effort and that is already too rich for my blood without shelling out 6 C more for licenses.

Fishing sucks. Water got warm becuase of west winds, Fish went to who knows where. Need a cold rain to get salmon moving. Lake trout are pretty much done for the year. Waiting for the Kings and Coho's to show up!

The perch have really turned on in the big pond. Have been pulling limits (30 fish per person) in less than an hour of fishing for the last week. The jumbos are starting to show up too! Got several 13-14 inchers last weekend.

So how was the fishing in Idaho, Paws?
I thought we were about finished with fishing on the lake, but this week's weather has allowed to add a few more perch to the freezer!

Pulled my boat last week, went yesterday with a friend and we fished for a few hours before pulling his boat. Got 4 nice native trout, all in the 10-12 lb class. We almost had tears in our eyes when we pulled the boat. THINK SPRING!!

Buckeye the fishing in Idaho was great!! I didn't get to do any of it and it's a real shame too. I was so damned sick all I wanted to do was die. Anyway Ivan and his boys caught a great stringer full and the Idaho Fish and Game boys were frying up some great looking salmon steaks too. They offered to take me out with them as a volunteer to do all the license free fishing I wanted. I'll know next time I guess. Although I had a great time all things considered I really should have stayed home.

Griz isn't it about time to get the tackle box dusted off and the rods and reels check out? I'm starting to itch!! Think I just might do a little creek fishing this year, maybe the Muskingom river. ;D

Fishing has kicked into high gear here. Still want to hit a couple of old places that I fished here 20 years ago though most are gone now.

;D Went for a ride on the Harley the other day with my wife, and ended up buying a used Bass Boat on the way home. The lake I live on is full of Brown and Rainbow trout, but over the years a lot of us have brought home largemough and smallmouth and tossed them in the lake. Guess it has paid off, went out Saturday morning, caught 0 trout but did manage to land over 20 smallmouths, two of which were over 2 pounds.

Neal, as good a cook as Linda is I can't wait to taste those fish...so what time do we eat ;D Glad to hear she had a good day fishing. We'll be going to Guntersville the first week of July. We are camping at the state park unless we can get a site at Goosepond. I have been trying to find out info over at NAFC BB but it seems like most of those folks got their own thing going.

Haven't been out fishing in a few days. Last time out though the wife and I were skunked. Bream are doing real good but we were chasing Catfish. 2 days before we went on Memorial Day we caught about 10 1 to 3 lb cats in the same fishing hole. This is one of those funny places that either is real good or not real good at all. Usually don't get skunked though. This is the first time in about 3 years we got skunked. If the weather(heat) lets us, Matt and I are going to try the Red River this weekend with jugs and trottlines. Of course we'll also use our poles and see how the bass are doing. Y'all have a good one, Catch some good ones

Went to one of my old fishing spots today with my oldest daughter. It's an old pond that I caught alot of really nice fish from back when I was a kid. Matter of fact I still have my first 5lb bass and a 14 inch crappie on the wall that came out of this pond. It's changed over the last twenty years, not polluted or anything like that. It's almost filled in. What was once 20 feet deep is now about 5. Most of it appears to be only two foot deep now. I used to catch some big carp out of it and thats about all thats left by the looks of it except now it has those dang goldfish in it as well. Seems somebody went nuts here and every pond now has goldfish. I'm hoping that this pond still holds some nice bass in the deeper water or maybe some really big cats but if nothing else we will be carp fishing it tomorrow.

I built a dam and dug a lake for a friend of mine about 6 or 8 years ago. He stocked it with Fl bass, crappy, coppernosed bream, catfish and shiners. No body has really bothered the fish there in all this time. Just few who come get a few bream. There are parts of this lake that are over 50 ft deep. I think I gotta go check this place out now. Something tells me there are some cats in there with some size to 'em
