I just unloaded my airboat after having it parked for six months due to gas prices. Now I'm thinking about getting a good little freshwater fishing boat to catch a mess for frying every now and then.
You guys have any opinions on the Grizzly welded aluminum boat? Bass Pro shops has been selling them for years, but a local dealer just picked up the line and they're priced right.
I've heard good and bad about aluminum boats, so I thought I'd ask around.
The one I'm looking at is 16'4"long with a 76" beam and a 25hp Mercury. It's a side console with two elevated swivel seats. Priced at $6,400.00. I'll still have to finance a chunk of it, but I like the boat, I just want to make sure I'll be happy with it. A comperable fiberglass model is another $2,500.00. A big difference in my opinion.
So, what do you think?

n2eatn- I have had Grizzly welded aluminum boat for many years could not have been happier, light weight and indestructibe. I used it not so much for fishing as to get me to the remote spots where other hunters don't go and trough flooded timber. Had to sell it when I moved to Canada.

'Round here, you can buy a comparable boat for less than $2500 in the classifieds. Lots of people fish the Missouri river in those little rigs. But there's nothing like new, eh?

n2, I like the way the grizzlies are built. 25 hp may be a little lite for that boat. I have a 15 ft with a 25 on it and it's only 48 wide. Top speed is about 25 mph according to the GPS. Much more than 25 may be a little big for the bayous though.
