Almost 2 dozen white perch/sac-a-lait/crappie and half dozen catfish. Small cats but tasty just as well. Miss Kathy had a blast too. ;D She even got her tan started. When Momma's happy, everyone ois happy. ;D 75 with a nice 5 - 10 mph breeze. Too bad we (I) got tired and had to come on in. I cooked some fillets up in the skillet with garlic, butter, salt, pepper and a dash of lemon juice on each. Maybe Paws or Steve will post the pictures. I still ain't learned that much yet.

Nice picture of good tasting crappies, Brian. Haven't had any since I took a bunch up to CCC to enjoy with the boys! Can't beat crappie fillets! Will have to start putting some in the freezer as soon as I get over this blasted flu--just won't clear up. Thanks for that hog info that you sent me as some of us are really interested in going there and the price isn't out of line. Keep on hauling in the big ones.......Bill

I liked the look of that Hog place too Bill. I'm real interested in going but it looks like it's going to take awhile. I think I'll have to get a job first then save. Such is life, I'll get there sooner or later, Until then, I go them fish to keep me busy along with Addison and Miss Kathy... ;D

Someday, I'm going to have to learn how them "Pro's" do it. I always use shiners or shad that I catch. These "Pro's" around here are using them Jig things. I've never done any good with them. But then again, they also like to release them fish back into the water. I release them into the fryer. ;D Must be a technical thing....

Them jigs and spoons and little spinner thingys are great for guys that love to fish, but I would rather catch!
I use MO Minnows on a light spinning setup and whoooeeeee! That's a recipe for a good time!

I know he'd appreciate a hand carved lure!!! Any one you'd like to make. He's really commited to trading his squirrel tails still.
Fred's 12 now and is a bit autistic. Little things like this completely consume him. Once he gets a project in his head, he has to see it through. He's a funny guy.
You build custom lures? That's awesome! I've been making and selling turkey calls on e-bay for a few years, but never thought of building fishing plugs.
Almost time for me to take a break from all the squirrel hunting and hit the lake for some specs and bass. it's been pretty cold, so I bet their schoolin' up real good.

I just kinda started carving these lures out, painting them up and putting them in a box. Nothing real fancy, just some basic plugs of different styles, woods and finishes.

Hey, if you guys have pictures of your lures and calls I would be happy to post them for you. Might not get a nibble; but, it won't cost you anything. Maybe we might talk about putting up a Sporting Goods Store front on E-bay. What do you think?

Phil, I have seen pics of Brian's lures and as soon as I can make up my mind which one I want I am gonna get one ;D They look awesome and one reminds me of my favorite lure, which I can no longer find.
Toby, Do you have any pics of your turkey calls? I just started turkey hunting last year and am looking for something that I can use ;D

I just saw some of Brians plugs and :oWOW What a talented guy! Not a bad idea Paws, on the outdoor e-bay store. I could submit a couple of bov calls and a couple of wingbones. I always sell when I post on there. My calls that is. I rarely sell any books on e-bay. I bet we could get together a real online flea-market. Post this idea on the cork-board Paws. Most of us have some old hunting gear laying around we're not doing anything with.

Sounds like a plan to me. Maybe I can make a little something, the times are getting tight enough that I'm now delivering pizzas. I'll send you a picture Paws. I'll even put numbers by the lures so we know which ones we're talking about. ;D

Good deal guys! ;D Brian, I am hot on the trail of the "missing email" problem. I've managed to get stuff to come into my junk mail folder now that was previously not showing up at all. So, I should be able to receive any pictures you send. So far I have recovered email from you, RtdCop (Bill Hurley), and Bill Rogue Warrior Elliot that was previously not coming. Can not find a reason that it should go into the junk mail bin though. Must have something to do with the webmail filters.

Been quit a while since I have looked in here. Been very busy with work while at the same time getting finally my freelance writing going and then still find some time to prepare for a big hunting and fishing show coming up begining of March.
I have a hunting and fishing blog now, that too took some time setting up. So finally my sweetie said. "Stop working and get out enjoy yourself. Turkey season is coming up why don't you go scouting and then do some fishing too."
Of course she is right. I am very exited because here in BC we are going to have our very first spring turkey season. Yep they have migrated that far up North and I have set it in my mind that I am going to be the first BC resident hunter killing a big tom.
But first things first, tomorrow I go trout fishing. Have done a fair bit of scouting and found an overlooked trout hole in the middle of suburbia which gets overlooked by other fishers. You know, the usual; "It's to close to the houses" or, "There are no fish in it." Well it's crawling with trout I can tell you. And tomorrow these fish going to learn what a man with a rod means.
