You sure we isn't related or something?? Granny said one of my cousins stopped by the house the other day. He'd been fishing over in the Palatlakaha (sp?) and needed her advice on how to keep a fish until he could find a taxidermist. She went out to the truck to see how big it was so she could make room in the freezer. His trophy bass was all of 9 1/2 inches and weighed in at 2 pounds!!

Well, nothing like proof. I guess those old BW lures do work ;D Way to go Toby!!!!!!!!!!
I'll never prove it myself cause mine are still hanging on my wall and I just love it when all my friends compliment me on them.

Toby, I put this pic over on NAHC Ohio "Why Geezers Rule" I think it is a great pic. I guess since you are technically a "Geekling" being so young that we'll just have to make you a "Geezer Intern" because of your skills and maturity! ;D Give the rest of those Geeklings something to strive for! MO, that's a Florida bass and those suckers are born bigger than the get in Ohio! ;D

Don't get excited Brian, there's a lot bigger ones than that out there! Them little fellers is just for sport or eaten. I don't need any for the freezer, so I just pitched them back.
I been stockin' the freezer pretty full lately. Those won't be missed.
I gotta dig up some real bass pictures and send to you guys if ya wanna see some sho' nuff Florida BASS!

Nope, but hope springs eternal ;D The biggest I have ever caught was 5 1/2 lbs. But it was in a tournament and helped me win 1st place ;D Now, I have had some on that went over that, but they broke my line. In fact, my partner saw one I had on that he will swear went over 14 but it broke my line like it was a spider's web

Caught six over ten and the biggest was 14.2!
All but one was caught on wild shiners, the other was caught on a baby bluegill being fished like a wild shiner.
The fourteen was twenty-nine inches from nose to tail and full of row.

Nice Bass Toby, that's about the size I am looking for. ;D Here up north they don't get that big as in Florida. Bass like it warm and Florida is perfect for bass. Up here we have six out of twelve moth cool or cold that hampers bass growth. But we have huge salmon up here they thrive on cold weather. So it is evened out again. ;D

Hey I have an idea. Othmar you catch the salmon. Toby you catch the bass. We'll all meet at Bill Hurleys place in Virginia and catch a load of crappie then eat 'em! ;D

Toby,
When I used to be stationed down in S GA. I fished for them big FL bass every chance I could..brother lives in St Cloud..East Lake Taho {sp} holds a bunch of monsters...brother's big fish was 10# and 9oz..fishing with him one afternoon..I hooked up with a nice one weighed it at 13# and 5oz...he just about made poopoo in his draws when I pitched that bugger back...My biggest was over 15# I know that cause my Chilliton scale bottomed out...I have 3 under the belt at 14 or better...man I need a vacation ;D ;D ;D ;D...We got them Red Eyed Bass (small mouth) up here and they are a blast to catch...biggest one of those was about 6# which is considered citation size..didn't think about recording it or taking photos until afterwards and it was swimming free...one of these days I'm gona say to hell with every thing and just go fishing ;D ;D ;D
