Jim (Coffeeman) called a few ago to let me know that Chuck Fish's wife, Paulette was found dead in their Florida vacation home this morning. She apparently passed in her sleep sometime last night or early this morning. Chuck is still in their home in Michigan with plans to fly to Florida tomorrow morning to work out details. Her death is totally unexpected and she will be sadly missed by her family and of course her friends which are many. She was not only my personal friend but my Den Mother as she was to all of the original Sick Puppies of the NAHC.

OMG! I'm so very sorry to hear this latest bad news! I didn't know Paulette well, but what visiting I have done over the past several years, I really thought highly of her. I am getting afraid to pick up a newspaper, turn on the computer or TV, or answer the phone or doorbell these days. Those of you who know me also know my recent run of things and why I'd make such a comment. My deepest condolences and prayers to Chuck and family. Again, I'm very sorry.

Chuck is fairing pretty well. He keeps remarking how he didn't realize how much he loved Paulette. Man, I been down this road more than a few times and it seems to never change. Regardless of how expected the event is the shock is always there and too there is always something left undone or unsaid.
