Skipped breakfast and lunch, so I grabbed a few 99 cent burritos at Taco Bell around 5 on my way up to see Mom at the hospital.
Washed it down with a rootbeer and bottle of water.

I skipped breakfast and lunch again, so I heated up five turkey hotdogs on the George Foreman grill. I was still hungry, so I cooked four sausage patties as well.
No bread or carbs of any other sort... Washed it down with water.

Been sleeping most all day. But when nature called, I made my way to the fridge. Over the course of the day I had 12 eggs, 2-1/2 quarts of 2% and, 3/4-cup of sugar (all baked up as egg custard), and a gallon of pink pack iced tea. Then a little bit ago, I nuked a plateful of chicken nuggets with sweet n sour sauce for dipping.

But I got hungry around ten o'clock and ate some saltines with peanut butter on them and washed 'em down with water.

Dad came in today and is spending the night. His second night home in the last five weeks since Mom's hospitalization. He asked, "What's for supper?" I answered, "Ramen noodles or pancakes. Take your pick." He said, "F*** that! Take me to the store!" Lol, tonight I had some chicken and sausage gumbo, with real andoile sausage and sweet iced tea! And it was good too, and lots of leftovers for tomorrow!

Whew dogie!!! I think mom was trying to comatose all of us yesterday. We set up in the Queen Suite at the Heritage Inn @ Renfro Valley. About 13 of us, I think. We had a spectacular view of the fireworks and didn't have to be out in the heat and bugs with 7000 others in a campgrounds all day long. Mom fixed a thin sliced buffet ham, pulled pork, buns if we wanted to make sammiches, baked beans, waldorf salad, pickled pearl onions, pickled baby corn, six 10-inch homemade cherry pies mom made with cherries from her trees, and two 5-qt buckets of ice cream. Add three 24-pks of soda and a continual pot of coffee. We started eating around 2:45pm yesterday and continued to graze until 3am this morning. Every time a new guest arrived, we sat down and had another full meal. All the guest cleared out by 2am. But mom wanted to stay up and yack all night. Finally around 4:00 this morning, I told her to turn off the TV and lights and PLEASE let me go to bed! She turned them off and kept on talking. I finally fell asleep on that rock of a mattress. We were up at 6:30 and the eating resumed until we left the hotel at 11. I'm thinking "THANK GOD!" But she packed up all the food in my coolers and when we got back to the house, she brought out the last of the pies and pulled pork!!! I wanted to stay a few hours longer. But decided that I HAD to get on the road just to get away from all the food! It sure was good and I really enjoyed my visit. But I think we'd have all been happy with a pizza and a round of beers.

Clearing out the best of the homegrowns, marked downs, and freebies from the fridge tonight. Made a huge quiche with a dozen eggs from the henhouse, a gallon bag of spinach, some basil, oregano and a couple onions from our garden, some brocolli slaw I made with some broccoli the neighbor gave me from his garden, a pound of Bob Evans hot & zesty sausage that was marked down to 89-cents, a quart of ricotta cheese that was marked down to 99-cents, a half pound of that 79-cent co-jack cheese, half a jar of marked down Miracle Whip light (60-cents worth used), and for the crust two tubes of Grands biscuits at 49-cents each. Add a little s&p and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Total cost of a 13x19 quiche...$3.86, or 24-cents per very filling serving. *Only six dozen eggs more to get used up!
