A can of Progresso soup (they were on clearance at Walmart...I bought two cases) and a sleeve of Saltine crackers. Soup, two serving can, 240 calories and full sleeve of crackers (8 servings) 480 calories. Washed it down with lots of water.
720 calories for the meal and I had the same for lunch. After skipping breakfast, that made for another day under 1,500 calories. I'm sliding down into yet another size smaller jeans also!!! :-)

Storms blew in around 5:45 and church was cancelled. So we were sitting around staring at each other waiting for things to blow over. Round about 7:30 we decided we were getting hungry. I needed a little time off the hill, so I told Mike to get dressed and we headed towards Jackson. Decided to try out Toro Loco since we'd never been there. A huge basket of nacho chips, a pint jar of salsa, and a bottle each of green chile sauce and hot sauce were set on the table while we went over the menu. Beverages arrived - a diet coke for me and a beer for Mike. Not sure what to order from their extensive selections, I ordered the "Grande Special" described as "chalupa, chile relleno, enchilada, beef taco, burrito, rice and beans on a bed of lettuce". Mike ordered the "Guadalajara Special" - "tamale, two taquitos mexicanos (1 beef, 1 chicken), nacho chips and beans, 1 beef & cheese burrito each served with sour cream, guacamole and tomato on a bed of lettuce". We're still not sure whose was whose, but it arrived on FOUR 14-inch platters!! While eating, our server asked if we wanted another round of drinks. I passed. But Mike asked for another beer. The server came back with a pitcher of draft!! So, I had to help Mike finish it. By then, they were locking up for the night and we had to pry ourselves off our seats to move. The bill was waaay more than we'd planned to spend. But we were absolutely stuffed to the gills, and we hadn't gone anywhere together in several months!

Home made ramen noodles in bouillon with bacon bits, diced onion, and a few green things. Power was out and was using back up gear.

After hitting the flea market and TSC, we decided to stop by the chinese buffet for lunch. They start their "supper" prices at 3:30 and we got there at 3:31. Damned!! I quit my bitching when I noticed they have added king crab legs, steamed mussels, and jumbo shrimp to the usual 30 kinds of chicken with egg rolls, rice, noodles and pizza. Mike managed to eat three plates of onion rings, pizza and french fries in the time it took me to crack a mountain of crab legs, mussels and shrimp. But man were they great!! Mom always said if you're eating out, get something you don't often get at the house. Today was that day!

Wish I knew! Took a couple pounds of burger and browned it, added diced onion and bell pepper, poured in some Ragu Mushroom sauce and fixed a box of mac and cheese and added it too. What ever it is better make two batches!

I read this AM that a Jackson County, Ohio 38 y/o was cooking in a food stand near the Livestock Sale had stepped on live electric cords after a down pour of showers. He died the next day at Huntington, WV. He was the Director of Jackson County Soil & Water Conservation Dept. Such a tradgety to have happened at a County Fair. I had homemade Chicken Salad with my own home grown heirloom tomatoes on crackers.

Boiled a bag of Bear Creek chicken noodle soup. Quick and easy to fix and it always comes out pretty darn tasty.
I didn't have any chicken or anything else to add to it to dress it up a might, but just as it was out of the bag and added to water...I enjoyed it. Ate the whole pot!

He died the next day at Huntington, WV. He was the Director of Jackson County Soil & Water Conservation Dept. Such a tradgety to have happened at a County Fair. I had homemade Chicken Salad with my own home grown heirloom tomatoes on crackers. I talked to someone in town that knew him. He said that the shock had shut his kidneys down and when they hooked him up to dialysis the next morning, it sent him into coronary arrest and that is what killed him. Sad. There was a DUI wreck earlier last week on 93 just south of Jackson that took the life of a man that lives just across the lake from us. I understand he was a coach for the Jackson Co developmentally disabled school and Special Olympics. He and his wife were coming home from a date night and were hit by a drunk that was in their lane. Marty ended up detoured onto 35 and had to call home for directions how to get home from work without driving all the way down to Thurman.

Wow, to sad for both of those gentlemen's families... I've said prayers for all involved. Tonight's supper, I splurged, lol. Cabinet's are fairly bare, soooooo I found a can of Hormel chili to which I added a tsp of chili powder, a can of black beans and a can of red beans. Mixed it together and heated it up. I finished it off in two sittings... (sleeping with the window open tonight... )
