I see we are having a small misunderstanding here. Breakfast must be broken down for understanding; ergo, break and fast. Now do we know what a fast is? A length of time going without food or between eating. Breaking the fast is the first meal of the day, regardless of the time the meal is eaten. So Rogie, your first meal was breakfast. Freddie yours consisted only of sweetened coffee! Now that's a good ole Southern Boy for sure! I think today I'm having cold cereal with ice cold milk and a half dozen strawberies cut up iin it with a slice of Nickels Italian bread toasted and buttered along with a nice cup of hot fresh coffee. Momma is back on night shift today so I got to spend my time cookin' for her take out dinner and what will also be my lunch.

Hotcakes!
2 cups AP Flour 2 Tbsp sugar 1 Tbsp Baking Powder 1/2 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Baking Soda Combine all very well 1 beaten egg 1/4 cup conola oil mix these together and add to the dry stuff 3 cups buttermilk add and mix one cup at a time 1/2 cup sweet milk (maybe a little more) add enough to make the bater pourable. Beat until smooth and allow to sit for ten minutes in the fridge.
Pour on a hot griddle and allow to brown on one side (until edges are dry and tops are glossy but firming, then flip and brown on the other side.
Makes about ten medium cakes.
Soft fried eggs to set on top of the hot cakes. Thick cut and crisped pepper bacon to lay along the edge of the plate. Hash brown with onions and cheddar to fill the empty corner of the plate. Fresh butter and maple syrup for the cakes left after the eggs are eaten. Hot strong coffee, some cold milk and a few ripe strawberries too.

From Faith:
GOOD MORNING!!
Had a great nights sleep and a hot shower. Souped up on coffee, OJ and beef jerkey. Feel tons better. We decided to take the trailer over by Lottridger. Super 8 wanted $180 for another night. Guy that owns the trailer won't be home from work until 5-ish. Gonna see about getting the power on today. If they can't hook us up today, we do have a place to stay for tonight. Put it this way, we were ordered to stay with them.
"Larry" is Larry Simmons (the car dealer in Parkersburg) He owns the farm Mike works on and is also partner with Coggeshall-Simmons Insurance. Matt is his son-in-law and runs the farming operations.
Seems everytime I fall in the shit, I come up smelling like a rose. See, I told you not to worry too awful much. But thanks anyhow. Keeps me from wandering around aimlessly in la-la land.
Faith

Rain Guage got my mouth watering for biscuits. I was running my tongue about hot yeast rolls so I golt a cravin'. So now I'm having biscuits with yeast, fried eggs and sausage patties! Another New Biscuit Recipe 2 and 1/4 cups AP Flour divided 1 cup (maybe a little more) half and half 1/2 cup buttermilk 1/2 cup butter in pats 1/4 cup warm water 1 Tablespoon sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 package dry yeast 1/2 teaspoon baking soda Mix the yeast with the sugar, warm water, and a quarter cup of flour very well and let rest (at least 15 minutes) while mixing the dough Combine the remaining dry ingredients very well. Add the butter and cut in. Add the wet ingredients including the yeast and form the dough. Dump out on a slightly flouered board and combine well but do not overwork. Fold, turn and flip just until the dough holds together well and form a rectangle of about 8 x 10 inches. With a sharp knife cut once dividing in half lengthwise and twice across the width giving 6 rectangular biscuits. Place in a lightly greased pan. Lightly grease the tops with oil, butter, or buttermilk and set aside to rest and rise for about 20 minutes. Bake in a hot 400 degree oven for about 18 to 25 minutes until browned nicely. p.s. Oh man these are good! Major, you know the crust on the pizza we had from East of Chicago? I think I stumbled onto their secret! The bottom crusts of these biscuits is identical.

Black coffee and a couple of tangerines this morning. I got wakened up early by my little brother Fred because the squirrels was barking and he got Dad's permission to start school after a squirrel hunt. He's home schooled, so Dad's pretty flexible.
I got up and dressed while Fred fixed the coffee. Goofy kid wanted me to gran the .410 and go without even the coffee. I worked until 05:00 this am and I wasn't going anywhere with out a cup of Joe!
I grabbed a couple of tangerines on the way out and after a short walk I popped a squirrel. We didn't see anymore the rest of the morning.

Two fist sized, home-ground sausage patties cooked on Mr. Foreman's grill (George Foreman, not Phil Foreman). And about five cups of black coffee. Funny thing I might mention. I was sitting here watching the birds outside the kitchen window as I finished my sausage and I had the strongest craving for a cigarrette I've had in years. I ain't touched one of them damn things in several years, although I still enjoy an occassional cigar, but today nothing would have been better with that coffee than a pack of Marlboro's. I'm going back to the low carb/no carb breakfast and supper menus too by the way. I was losing weight and feeling better, so I'm gearing back up to it. I boiled some eggs earlier so I can make deviled eggs to go with supper tonight and I have leftover sausage from the pack I'd thawed for this mornings breakfast so tomorrow I'm planning on waking up for some of the Old Koot's Scotch Eggs. Yumm-yumm!

Anyway, this morning was a corned beef hash and eggs along with some good old fashioned black coffee......Now that will get you smokin in a quick way!!! ;D Hey no advertising! Where is breakfast? I had to do something with all that rice she asked for so I did a PI style breakfast. You take a whole onion and cut it up like for onion straws and brown that in a little oil (I used garlic), lay in a couple slightly scrambled eggs to cover and brown both sides. You make a PI salsa out of fresh chopped tomatoes, chopped onion, chopped garlic, a little course salt, a little vinegar and a lot of soy sauce. You plop them eggs down with a good portion of that rice and some of that salsa and eat it. Oh, you are supposed to use your fingers. Your coffee is sweetened with milk and served in a drinking glass. Now tell me more about this cobbler! Kroger's has berries on sale!!
