This sore old body is finally getting to move around again after a successful hunting trip with the boys at CCC. :-XShot a large doe opening morning-40 minute hunt!!--that stopped a small opening in the brush for a look/see at a small 6 pointer that was on her tail! BOOM!! When the smoke cleared all I had was a 20 yard drag to the tote road! ;)Rich and I each drew a doe tag this year and both decided to take a doe instead of a buck as there aren't many bucks around but lots of does! Let 'em walk!!!! A great time was had by all-lots of BS-Scotch-steaks-cookies!! Dances around the fire pit 'til 0145 hrs!! The boys put on an addition to the new porch so we can watch the sun come up!! Had fresh venison for supper last nite and was it good!! Looks like rain today so will wake my child bride up for breakfast. Take care......Wild Bill

Rich is coming over to pick me up in the morning and heading up to Missouri to a buds home in Mountain Grove who invited us to hunt deer with his group on Nov. 15th. We will tent out-will see how much this old body can take. Tomorrow we will get a picture of the lay of the land before we hunt--a good excuse to get together again!! Rich is doing well but sure misses Linda--we all do! She was one of a kind!! He is keeping BUSY so that must help. We also have a hunting date in Kansas the first week of December so we have lots to plan and do! Take care. Brian and his boys are out at CCC right now for a week, Rich told me. Wish them luck.

Tenting ain't that tough now days partner. I got a better bed for my tent than I do in my bedroom. Got portable TV, radio, CD player, fridge, heater, fan Air Conditioner, lights, easy chairs, tables, clothes closet, boot dryer, DVD player, gun rack, and even a back door to the"path"! Tell old Brain "hey" and we miss him round here since he got the big head. Pass Rich a howdy too!

Got the report from Rich yesterday when we were out at CCC sighting in rifles, filling LP tanks, and getting ready for the opener here today and Missouri next week! Brian shot a jake and stuck a buck(couldn't find it!) and Chris got a eight pointer and Matt saw some but no shots! Sounds like they had a good time even tho they had a cut tire from the road!! My back is killing me so I decided to return home to heal up for next week end. Rich and his buddy from Alaska are out there squirrel hunting and bear hunting!! :oRich wants a bear or anything with his hand gun--wish him luck. 36* now with strong gusty winds!! :-XHope this gets over for our tenting OUT next week end

:-XTent used one night! :'(Am giving it away to a needy person here in town!! For WARM nites only!!! Hey buddy, they make two season, three season, and four season tents. You can survive a cold night in a three season tent, but you'll be up all night switching propane bottles or stoking the fire. You gonna spend time in the cold you got to have a tightly knitted heavy weight shelter which generally means thick canvas and a wood burner. A teepee with a fire in the middle and two wall construction really works well or you can have Elkchaser teach you how to build a dugout!
