Hello to one and all..... I don't like to do this but, due to the price of black powder going up I'm going to have to bend my pride and ask for donations for this years powder. The best price I have found is $20.00 a pound, this is due to shipping going up on hazardous material.I know that things are tough for everyone, and not just me. As I said I have to bend my pride and ask for help any thing you can donate would be a big help. Thank You for reading this and anything you can spare.

Colonel Reynolds,
Reckon how far does a pound of BP go? How many muzzleblasts can you get out of a pound?
How much powder do you go through at an average reenactment? How many pounds do you go through?

Will Beaver Creek with the Stonewall Brigade in May be the first engagement or will you be taking to the field before then. I can't be there, but I'd be honored for Rebel Yell Livestock Associates to be able to help make a lot of smoke!!!

Paws is so full of it. He is just jealous that Peg has a voice that can be heard above the crowd. LOL
Seriously, we can get about 4 shots per pound. Usually we take about 60-70 rounds per event. If the event provides a "bounty" it is usually just about $100 to $150 per event. Considering we usually use about 15 to 20 pounds of powder per event, it is a costly hobby, especially for a poor boy. The crowds seem to enjoy the big booms though.
The crowds are the reason that we do what we do. We certainly don't make any money at it.

No Sir, I don't expect anybody to get rich reenacting. I know well that it's a labor of love and I'd love to participate myself; I am a bona fide history nut! The more booms, the happier the crowds. Happy crowds means better attendance at future events. Better attendance means our history lives on!!! Put down Rebel Yell Livestock Associates for about five pounds of powder @ $20 per pound. To be delivered by May 1st. Let's make some noise!!!

Thank you very much. Every pound helps. ;D ;D Here is a big Rebel Yell to the Rebel Yell Livestock Assoc.
We also believe if history is not understood, it is doomed to repeat itself and we certainly don't need that. All you have to do is look at some parts of the rest of the world to see that history is repeating itself. Brother against brother.
Thanks again.
Bruce and Peg

Powder, Inc. sells Cannon grade Goex for $14.21/lb if you buy it in 25-50lbs lots. That price is including the hazmat fee I think.

I recently bought 25 1-lb cans of FFg "Rattlesnake" powder from them and it cost $275 total ($11/can includes hazmat and S/H) for myself and a couple of others in my infantry unit. They ship it right to your door with adult signature of course.

Toby, I agree $11 is a steal, but on the same hand in almost 40years doing B/P shooting I have never heard of Rattlesnake. I have many places to check....My guess it is made for exactly what it is being sold for. That is not a bad thing as long as it works. But I will check my sources about quality.

I talked with one of my Florida reenacting buddy's (Born and raised in Florida and wears BLUE!!!!!) and he buys Elephant BP for his mortar, but lats he bought was almost twenty bucks a pound delivered. I'm liking these Rattlesnake prices if it's load and smokes, lol. Cheaper it is the more shots we can get Bruce to fire off...I wanna wear out his gun crew, lolol. ;D
