Prollem is when diu lose muscle mass also, that's why I boosted the protein; not just increasing volume cause I'm hungry, lol.
I got me some apples and that does help take the edge off the "sweet tooth".
Tell ya what... I feel like crap. I'm losing weight and the sugar is staying down, but I feel like crap. I'm hungry all the time and anyone says you can trick yourself to feel full by drinking large quantities of water is a f*ckin' moron...I just feel bloated from all the water and am about to piss myself to death.
But, the sugar is down...I'm losing weight...I actually caught a glimpse of my weiner in the shower, haha. Tell the truth Koot, you ain't seen yours since the seventies have ya? Hahahaha!!!! ;D

LOL! That's funny. The moods is because of the lack of carbohydrates. They are the feel goods. Try a little dark chocolate and make sure you are getting enough carbs. Dark chocolate is loaded with antioxidants. For building muscle mass a better source of protein is vegetable protein because it is more digestible. This includes legumes (beans), peanuts, peanut butter and grain germ especially wheat germ. Remember a while back I discovered that a PB &J on whole grain (12 grain) bread with milk is the perfect meal. Try that for a meal and see how you feel Do one for a meal then a pile of carrot snacks for a snack then a tuna salad with veggies and boiled eggs for a meal. Then some nuts an apple and wheat germ for a snack. Then some lean chicken or fish with veggies and a modest carb for dinner. Like that. You will continue to feel a bit funky until your glucose normalizes and begins to remain static. Beware of dizziness and shakes and blurred vision during this time as well. Ten minute boiled eggs are a superior source of protein for building muscle tissue and the immune system and are etremely digestible.

Proly got brown sugar or molasses in 'em is why they was so good. Hope not... Yeah boys, we do gots to do better. Anybody still experimenting with cinnamon? Wasn't ya'll doing good by adding that into the diet? I gotta go bck through the archivs on here and find that.

Yeah baked beans got molasses and brown sugar. Yeah the cinnamon knocked down the glucose 20 percent average for me in the first couple years. I just run out of stuff to use it in. Taking it straight is near impossible and the capsules are expensive. It is useable on toast, cereal, fruit, yogurt, in coffee (yech), oats and that be about it.

I'm gonner try it and see if it helps. Might check on e-bay and see if I can find some capsules cheaper than the GNC sells 'em for. I feel more better after I had supper tonight though...musta been low on my sugar cause within thirty minutes of eating I began to feel like my old self again.

Poke your finger when you feel like that Toby because the old brain will project fals feelings of low sugar in order to maintain the excessive high it is used to. Yes it is a psychological addiction when you begin to drop the numbers. If you see that the number is higher than acceptable reduce your portion size and carb count. Sometimes when I get the "nibble" feelings and check my sugar the nibbles go away as soon as I see the sugar is high. You can buy empty capsules and fill them, 500 mg size but it is a royal bitch. The easiest way is a half tsp on toasted and buttered whole wheat or multi-grain bread. It is good but gets boring after a while because it is consuming between 23 and 30 mg of your < 50 carbs for breakfast and reduces your variety options. Hmmm. just thought... With an apple or pear this might be a good last snack of the day regularly. Oh by the way drinking some water when you feel hungry is not intended to fill you up but the body expresses thirst in the form of hunger. Especially if you generally drink only with your meals. You will need extra water intake with a balanced diet because your guts need the extra water to process and expell the fiber waste. If you are still on antibiotics, even more. I manage six to eight quarts of water and no sugar flavored drinks every day. I use the Great Value brand of Crystal Light look-a- likes. Not convinced yet that they are good for me but taste damned good and are very refreshing.

Good for you Toby. You are a young man and now is the time to build good habits and break bad ones. ;D ;D ;D My glucose is at 250 this morning, down 51 points from yesterday AM for a 17 percent decrease. Noticed this morning that Snake Eyes had managed to log in. He didn't post but it looks like he is able to get back on now. Linda told me they had changed security/antivirus providers when the problem started.. Who wants to play a game? Anybody want to play and can afford to lose a dollar a month is welcome to play. Post your daily glucose fasting results, keep track of your average and at the end of the month whoever has the better average gets your buck. Sign up right here and tell your diabetic friends because I got some ideas for better motivational rewards. Hey, you know I'm in!

Can't play yet Paws, I gotta get one of them glucometers... Will soon though.
Koot, ain't got no cod down here and it ain't legal to take the sturgeons... Mullet is Prime fish for smokin'. Bet you'd like it if I could get yer crusty ol heiney down here. Get ya some of my wild hog jerky too!
Most pork is too fat to make good jerky, but this wild pork is extra, extra lean. It turns out pretty good and don't go rancid like the commercial or farm raised pork.

Loins and tenderloins are easy. Just slce and dry. Hams, shoulders, hocks and ribs can be smoked and dry air cured pretty easy. rinds is a bitch cause you got scrape the hide, wash it, cut it up to size, boil the bejeebers out of it, dry it and fry it twice. Annnnnd if you want cracklins you got to make sure you got fat and meat on the hide to boot.
