Here's some info you might want/need ET;
Season is March 31- May 13
Bag limit is 4 per year and one per day, male only. Only 2 birds per year on goverment land.
I have two flocks located at this time. One on private land and the other on goverment.
Lodging, you staying at the Holiday Inn or I can get cheaper if you want? Camping is free if you want to go that route and an area is near where the goverment flock is located. You can also trout fish at that camping area.If you want to camp I can set the camp up for you as I have everything here except you personel stuff. I can even get a load of firewood out there. I can also arrange a horseback trail ride there if you want. There are several pay camping places and a goverment pay to camp place is you want the niceties of a bathroom/shower.
If nothing else we can go to where we saw the tom in the roadway last year.
You bringing your C. Daly to hunt with or using one of mine?

Mars I think that the private camping area would be preferable.

OK. Lets see, the camping area in the bear reserve sounds good. The bears should be getting out of their dens by then and be really hungry.
You like honey and bacon for breakfast? ;D ;D

OK, I'll make the arrangements here. We got an eviction notice today. The manager blames my daughter for shooting up the apartments with her paintball gun. It was another kid but his parents say he doesn't have a paintball gun.

Nothing but a thing! We have an appointment to view two houses this afternoon so maybe one of them will be our new home. I'm not to worried about the eviction. I can always contest it in Court and being a combat vet and a handicapped wife and two minor children we would end up still living here as long as we needed. That and the fact that the Judge is a high school friend and in charge of my wifes trust and if you look in the trapping section at the pictures I posted, that farm is his. For once I have a Judge that doesn't think I'm a jerk. Anyway, think turkey! Anybody have a turkey call that ET can buy? ;D

Had a meeting with a game warden today. We were fishing Clark Creek and he showed up and asked for my license which I showed him then he asked how old my daughter was. She's 12 so she doesn't need a license till next year. We shot the bull for a little bit and went back to my truck which was only 20-30 ft. away. He spots two leghold traps that I have in the bed. He asked a few questions about my trapping and then he got ignorant! He asked why the traps did not have a tag on them. I told him because they didn't need a tag in the truck. He said that they were in my possesion so they needed tagged. I told him I knew of no such law or rule and to please show it to me. He got a PO'd look on his face and said he could write me a ticket for a violation. I told him and then showed him my trap tags that I had in the glove box and I again asked what law I had broken? I wasn't being beligerent but honestly wanted to know. He said since I had the tags he wouldn't write out a ticket. I stated that possesion of the traps was not illegal ,tagged or otherwise as long as I was not actualy out setting the traps. He said it wasn't but it "looked" suspicious. I agreed that it did. He stated that possesion of them untagged on State Land and out of season "could" result in a ticket. I dropped the subject and went back to fishing. I was 100% legal and he knew it but turned into a jerk the moment he saw the traps. FYI, Tn. has an open year round trapping season on coyote and beaver so the there is no out of season.

Fire! A forest fire has been burning in the area we are going to hunt for the last several days! They predict it will not be out till the end of the week. It has not effected the area we are going to hunt,yet, but it's real close. It started in the Clarks Creek area and has spread over the ridge. Clarks Creek is where I posted the pictures on the fishing hole topic. From what I hear that area has been destroyed! So much for the native trout!

How bad is the fire? Does it affect anyone or is it just forest?

It finaly rained Friday and it finished putting the fires out. There where 3 going at the same time.The worst one was started by the forest service as a contol burn of 1500 acres that got out of control and burned about 3000.Only a goverment agency would be stupid enough to start a fire knowing all their firefighting resources were fighting other fires!The area I plan to turkey hunt recieved damage but it was only underbrush that burned and I saw a flock of about 8-12 turkeys in the area including 2 toms. No buildings got even close to being burned as the fires where all in the national forest.One fire is being investigated as arson, the one at Clarks Creek.
It looks like turkey season is still a go. I'm getting you a room at the Holiday Inn.I figure that would be better for you after the drive down here. If you want to camp we can get you set up when you get here.We will need to get your licenses as soon as you arrive.

Your set for the hotel. The highway exit numbers have changed on I26 so just look for the Jackson/Love exit instead of the number.
