Man what a tough break! You sure you don't want to take a break here and either fix it yourself or put it in a shop? We can arrange it if you want. Man I hate to see you drive a busted vehicle! Be very very careful anyway and stay the hell off of 41A when you get back to TN! Hate to see you get it whacked twice.

Guess who got hit in the rear on the way back from McConnelsville this afternoon! No biggie I don't think. If the gas tank is still full ltomorrow morning it should be just very minor cosmetic damage to the bumper. I saw him gaining on me in the miror and punched the gas and centered the steering wheel. Still he hit hard enough to bend the bumper and knock the rear view mirror out of the socket. He was speeding with no lights on in the rain. Didn't see me until the last second before impact when I heard his brakes.

Might be although I couldn't place the face she did look familiar. I don't think they had insurance cause their beater had already had the front end dusted pretty good before. I let them go so I hust hope their isn't any hidden damage to the old Escort.

Sounds like you got hit by the same car I did. They must have something against Fords. Though they same to keep coming up on the bad end of the deal. ;D Their front end didn't have a crumpled hood with my bumper imprint on it and a broken passenger side headlight did it? By the way, I'm home now. The drivers side wheel sounds bad! Must have busted the bearings or something as it sounds like grinding. 5 wrecks in Kentucky slowed my return, all on I-64, plus all the construction going on.

Yes Mars as a matter of fact their front end did look very similar to what you describe. I figure they were running in the rain with no lights cause the lights werent working. They said it was all "previous damage!" It is a state law to have your lights on in Ohio when it is raining and windshield wipers are required. Of course running les than 70 in a 55 zone and paying attention to what was in front might have also been helpful! Glad you made it home safe.

Our apartment maintenance person checked out my truck for me. He says the headers are loose/broken and the gaskets are gone. Not a major problem but a annoying one. So I have noise, lots of it now, and loss of horse power do to loss of compression. Geico is sending an adjuster out to look it over.
ET, that "little" noise that I heard after the collision was evidently the headers coming loose/broken and driving back here finished the job.Geico said I can get a rental car for now and they will pay $25. a day towards it and go after the other drivers insurance for the balance and any out of pocket expenses.According to what Geico pulled from the report and Indiana law the other driver is considered 100% at fault and will be 100% liable.
