That would be terrific ET! I really like the looks of that park GQ put in here in Urbana. It has a dining room and a snack bar too so it is half civilized. Then there are the camp sites and the river next door for anyone who can stay a night or two and wants to fish or mess around in the great outdoors. I checked out "Blue Jacket" and it is playing, a hundred and twenty beans a ticket. So let's call it there and plan on meeting up say around ?? Here is an area map: www.meadowlakeresorts.com/images/ROADmap.gif

120 a ticket? Cheese & Rice! I never use to pay more than $25-$30. what in the world happened? Did the Injuns form a union? I've seen it twice, and I'd love to see it 20 more times. But not at that price. After these last few days meeting up at some place that has A/C dont sound like a bad idea! I dont mind perspiring while I'm working, but sweating while I'm sitting on my ass doing nothing just sucks. That said, I like the looks of the place too Paws. Does anyone plan on staying a night or 2?

You know, the more I think about it, I think I'm gonna take a cruise to that camp grounds this weekend and check it out.
If it looks good I can make resies for Friday and Sat. night. It looks to me, and I'll confirm it, that everyone else would only have to pay a $2.00 guest fee. Unless you plan to camp of course.
Then, if everyone else thinks its a good idea, I could bring my smoker and we could have a Saturday Lunch BBQ. I can supply the pork and the baked beans.

That sounds to me like it would work. Everybody could bring something or the other. With such a small group though I think everyone should state what they plan to bring so we need a headcount pretty darn quick! I'm one! What time would you want to serve a meal? I could get up there maybe a couple hours early and help you set up if you plan to camp. I'm going to ask the wife to try to take that day off so she can stay home and take care of these animals which will free me up for the day. Can't hurt to ask.

Who are you trying to kid? I may not be married, but I've certainly been around women long enough to know that asking them anything can be a very painful ordeal! Well, I would put the pork butts in the smoker the Fri. night so they'd be ready to go for lunch at say, ohhhhhhhh, 12:00- 12:30? I'll prolly be up by 5:30- 6:00 Sat. AM, unless I embibe a lil too much around the camp fire Fri. evening. So you and whoever else could come about anytime ya wanted! And you're right we need a head count. If TT, ET, you, and I are there that'll make 4. (Bet you didn't know I was that good at math.) Now come on folks, its time to come outta the hills and visit the flat land I call the Midwest of the Midwest!

Here is what I posted: OK this thing is going down on the wekend of the 18th of August at the resort indicated right here: www.meadowlakeresorts.com/ This is located outside of Urbana between Columbus and Dayton off Routes 70 and 75. Good maps and Mapqwest access are available at the link. There is a 2 dollar per head "guest" registration fee per head. Just tell them you are with the Ohio Camp Cooks Group luncheon. GQ will be geting a camp site Friday night and staying over. Anyone else planning to camp needs to make reservations. Camping fees are 28.00 per night primitive for two people and go up from there based on ammenities rented. It is a very nice site. Near the Mad river and canoe rentals for some good fishing opportunities. We plan to have a BBQ pot luck lunch around noon Saturday so we need a head count and what you plan to provide for the pot luck PDQ! GQ is providing BBQ pork and beans (not pork and beans, but pork and beans.) Now if we can get Faith and the kids and the Reynolds out along with Buckeye Bill United and a few more we'll have a nice time.

I assume that for Faith the best days would be week-end days. Is that correct? Week-ends?? After Mike gets back on the boat, all the days are pretty much the same around here. Sit around watching movies I've seen a gazillion times, hose down our dirty duds, break up arguments between the yard-apes, keep the ice and tea made, and move the push-pins on the "tow watchers" map. I was told that the mini-GT's down this way are kid-free occasions. Someone want to find out for me if kids are OK in western Ohio? There all 3 teenagers. Am I correct that this is happening the 18th? If kids are OK, count 4 more. As far as what I could contribute to the meal, I'll just keep a watch on what you all are planning to bring and suprise you with something that'll compliment what you all pledge to bring. It's too hard to plan on making something 'cause the kids always eat the main ingredients before hand.

Well by jingo we got a GQ, a me, a Faith, four yard apes, a probable ET, maybe a TT and a Girly Girl so far so I reckon that's about ten signed on so far. I'll plan on spud salad and I'll tell you right off if I can find the gallon size Amish I'm buying it. They make that really good! I'll also provide cold drinks. We need buns, chips, pickles, condiments, ice, paper plates, cold drink cups, hot drink cups, coffee?, maybe dogs, maybe burgers, maybe onions, maybe tomatoes, maybe lettuce, maybe cheese slices, ?? what else? Doesn't look like much activity on the NAHC thread but here is the link just to keep this coordinated and organized! forums.huntingclub.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=8436001725&f=661006206&m=4811083133&r=5831061233#5831061233

I informed her that I was going to Urbana on that day and she replied that I couldn't because she had to work; the operative being "had'. I replied; " Bull SH_T!" Then I informed her that I was fed up with staying here to take care of her animals and the very next time that she decided to spend the night in Columbus that I was filing for divorce. I'm filing tomorrow afternoon.

Phil,
Are you serious??? If I ain't out of line, I would like to offer a little advice. Pray about this, seek God's will, then act upon it. One thing to remember, is that reconcilation is what the Lord would have us to do, in any situation.
My prayers will be with you.

Well, I hope my late arrival here finds things in a calmer state, if like bro freddie asked about this bein serious.
On the assumption its not serious, I'll tell ya what I found out:
The prices on the internet are correct. $28.00/ night (2 peeps) to camp at a site with some power. $2.00 ea. for guests to visit.
He told me there should be plenty of room and too not make ressies until a week from this Mon.
The guy didn't bulk when I said 10-15 visitors.
BTW, Due to my own personal matters I didnt get to drive there yesterday. What I did was call them today. I'm still gonna try some evening after work this week to scope the place out physically.
Talk to you folks tomorry.

Thanks Pastor but I got two problems here; (1) It is awfully hard to pray when you are madder than a rabid dog. (2) Reconciliation requires cooperation, compromise, or at least two of the parties involved in a marriage to achieve. I think the prayers were needed before I maried her.

Thanks GQ for the leg work; much appreciated. Yes it is serious. You know I'll bend over backwards for almost anybody, for any reason or any time; but here lately it seems like I been bending over forwards and taking it up the bum This shit has got to come to an end and soon.
