Input from Mosby's Raiders looks very positive. What would it ltake to get you Pawpaw, Shiloh, MadJack, and anybody else up here in costume who has some re-enacting history maybe some artifacts to display. Christopher, you need to get out of the city for a spell too; besides I want to meet you and your family man! ;D

Can a guy just show up for the day at this get together or will he have to spend the night? Don't know if I can even make it but would like to meet everyone and if possible I'll make the trip. I will be in Illinois during that time period and heck it's just one more state to where you will be. Well, I'll have to cross Illinois and Indiana and part of Ohio but what's a few hundred miles.
If ya'll are half as much fun in real life as you are on this board it would make for a great day.

Rich,
Any one is welcome for any length of time. It sure would be great if you could make it. Last year's GT was a blast. It took me a whole week for my face to stop hurting from laughing so much. I think we ended up with attendees from 7 or 8 states. The best part was that even though very few of us had evr met anyone else in person before the GT, it was like we were all life long friends. Really great people.

Well, I just put it on my reminder calendar and will make every effort to come for at least a day. Depends on whether my sweetie has plans or not. Are there hotels close by in case we can stay the duration?

Rich there is a full service lodge on site. Golf course, riding stable, boat rental, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a restaurant; ooooooooorrrr I'm sure you would be welcome at any of the camp sites if you wish to camp out just let me know! Extra gear is not a problem! ;D

Yeah Rich, what Paws said. There is always room. Heck one guy brough a 32 ft camper down last year and he was the only one that used it. Of course it was parked half in the woods. I'm going to bring my big tent next year too!
There are some pictures from last year on the NAHC board in the Ohio section.

What town is Salt Fork close to or is that the name of a town? I'd like to map it from here.
I know as soon as I tell my wife we are going to Ohio in May to meet the folks on this board she will probably think I've lost it. But, I'll do my best to smooth that conversation out.
This really sounds like fun to me.
She's usually pretty good about things like this but I nearly always wind up going by myself. Got some friends in Kansas who have a beautiful home and 160 acres. They've invited us both out several times but when I tell her Mike and I are going to do some hunting she always backs out. In fact I'm leaving Sunday to go there - by myself - for a week.
Maybe there is some truth about old Eric, huh??

Rich, Salt Fork State Park is just a couple of miles northeast of the intersection of I-70 and I-77. The closest town would probably be Cambridge.

Well, it's about 800 miles from Harrison, Arkansas to Salt Fork but only about 400 from my wife's folks in Mattoon, Illinois. So, if I can convince her to go visit her folks then maybe I can convince her to travel a little farther. I'll try my best.

Is this for re-enactor's?? Or is it just a GT and whoever wants to do their thing can? I'm always looking for somewhere that my Venture Crew could go and I do have a couple of kids that like to do "period" type stuff. We haven't got our calender finalized for '05 yet...

Officially this is an Ohio Camp Cook's function, cause NAHC won't associate it's name with it. The kids are welcome to set up period displays. There will be a group of Rebels there with displays as well as whatever else I can get "volunteers" to arrange. I hope todo some DO demos and a few things with the rebs for public presentation. Butfor the most part it is just a get together. Any public stuff will just be scheduled for like a couple hours a day. If the kids do want to set up period displays give me a description. I'll include that in the news release.
