Mine's all dried up! The dock I normally go fish from is twenty yards from the water's edge and all of the public boat ramps are shut down. The rivers so low that I can stand on one bank and spit to the other side. Gotta have some heavy rains soon or the whole damn state'll be dried up.

Taking the daughters to the Kids Fishing Day at the park. They stock the park pond with about 900 pounds of trout and let the kids, 12 and under, have at it from 9am to 3 pm. There are fishing related games, prizes, demostrations, ect.. I was scheduled for training at work today and I've asked several times to reschedule because of this event but the company said no and I would be at work today. Yep, I sure will be! ;D ;D

As soon as I get them uploaded I'll post the pictures of my "work" day. Both daughters limited out and my oldest caught the biggest trout caught so far, about 3 1/2 pounds. She won a new fishing pole because it had a red tag in it as well. Wal-Mart donated the prizes.

Took the daughters to the 26th Annual Roan Mountain Trout Tournament yesterday. As is becoming a habit, my oldest caught another tagged trout and won another fishing pole. My youngest got skunked but because of the rain she quit after the first hour and went to the BBQ with her mother. It was creek fishing this time and I spent several hours with my oldest teaching her how to read the water and tell where the fish are.She ended the day with 3 trout.

The entire family went catfishing at Rogersville yesterday. Fishing was slow because of low water but we ended up with 23 pounds of catfish. My wife caught a 7 pound blue cat which is a record for her so she wants it mounted. The rest of the fish averaged a little less then 2 pounds each.

We went to the Kids Fishing day at Limestone Cove Recreation Area yesterday. It was not as crowded as last year, don't know why. My oldest daughter caught the first limit of 2 trout. It took her about 15 minutes. We then spent the day watching(picking) on the other kids and parents and eating hotdogs cooked by Southside Fire and Rescue. We went around rebaiting kids hooks with rainbow powerbait. I always take extra jars of it. We used 2 jars of it. Why the trout bite that stuff is beyong me but the trout love it and worms were not working. It's a hoot to watch a kid that hasn't caught a thing for an hour then put the powerbait on and they catch a trout in seconds.

Oh yea. My daughter didn't win a fishing pole yesterday or last Saturday at the event at Steele Creek Park. She must be losing her touch. ;D

Dad and I hit an acre and a half stock pond yesterday with three of the kids. We cane poled it with a can of worms each and in three hours caught a hundred and twenty-eight brem. We got bluegills, redbreasts, yellow sunfish, and a handfull of stumpknockers. Oh, and a couple of bass.
Then 128 fish we caught doesn't count the thirty or so we tossed back in for being shorter'n a hand.
Freezer's getting pretty stocked up! ;D
