Toby, I'm still looking for ya! Ain't give up the hunt yet.
Phil, I don't think Mike knows what loose clothes are. It it's loose around the belly, then it falls off his shoulders and arse. So he buys everything either shoulder or butt size and tries to stuff the gut in. I taped his actual "waist" a few weeks ago. The jeans he wears are 14 inches smaller than that. If I get him shirts based on chest or neck measurments...well he's about 10 inches shy of buttoning. Sometimes I swear he's trying to audition to be Octo-mom's serrogate. LOL

You want to get out of that habit before you head for Montana bud. Them rags will hold moisture, freeze up and kill you for sure up there. Polypropelene? Isn't that like a trash bag?

What? No wash tub, scrub board n Lava??? Just got in a lot of info from Backwoods Solar; their planning guide & Catalog. I'm mighty impressed with how affordable a small solar system can be had for... A system setup for my camper to run all of my needs, couple a lights, phone charger, laptop charger, small microwave, and a small tv w/dvd and stereo and a small refridgerator will run about $1,400. Figure with a fifteen to twenty year life cycle on the system; that ain't bad. Heck, you can completely run a small energy efficient home on full solar for under six grand. If anyone is interested in not only an off the grid system, but VERY affordable on grid systems that can save you a ton of cas in the long run, e-mail at info@backwoodssolar.com and ask for the 2011-2012 planning guide. Really good information in here! They also have a lot of wind and hydro options!!!

You need to talk to Noodles and KJ (Kathy Jacobsen) Toby. They are fully off the grid and have been for years. You ought to see that house. Hotter than Hell in June or July and I sat there in the DR with just a window open, no AC and was as cool as a cuke! Winter time their wood is by the arm load not the rick or chord!

Thanks, I will!
I'm definitely gonna have to learn a bit about fuel conservation. Not a lot of timber in the area and I'll be having to bring in truckloads of wood from elsewhere to lay in a decent stockpile.
Getting plenty info on the net, but still I wated to talk with folks that are putting the theories to practice. I'll give 'em a shout. ;D

Check the locals there and see if anyone grows eucalyptus. It stinks like menthol coughdrops but grows three feet a year. Lombardi poplar grows quickly too. LOf course like all fast growing wood they are soft and don't put out a lot of heat but hey, bettern nothin.
