Thinking about snowbirds, reading some western novels, thinking about your plans. Brother, no offense, but you gotta be half loco. Where your planning to head is great for a summer home/pasture when you don't have to be worrying about keeping your arsh warm or if you've got enough provisions to get through winter. But head back south just before the snow gets to falling. Even the critters got that figured out. There. See? I solved your firewood problem.

I keep it simple; 30+ firearms 5,000 rounds of ammo enough supplies to reload another 5,000 Anything else can be taken from those that stocked or grew them but forgot to get a firearm. I like your thinking! I only keep some of my ammo handy. The rest lof it I keep in stores.

OK. So we have our weapons, food, gear and communications taken care of. How's about our health? We're gonna need more than just first aid and surgical kit. www.endtimesreport.com/vetmed.htmlAll this stuff is available at Tractor Supply or Southern States. As of my last visit to the TSC med cooler (about a month ago), they do handle epinephrine. But that tip on telling doc that you're a bee keeper and need epi-pens is one I'd never thought of.

Monitor the expiration dates on the Terremyacin and Tetrocyclen as they become poisonous after a period of time. I've asked my vet to stand in as my Surgeon General when TSHTF>

LA 200 is just another brand of oxytetracycline (terramycin, duramycin...). You sure you're not thinking of combi-pen? Please don't tell me you're shooting up with combi-pen. That stuff can shut down your liver and kidneys.

No, LA200... Been using it for years and never had an issue with it. Not on myself now, mind you...but push come to shove and you can't get medical care I'd use it on myself in a heartbeat.
Hell, Paws, get yerself a Jeffer's catalog. You'd be surpriseed what antibiotics you can get.

Jeffers and PBSAnimal health both have catalogs. If you make it to Circleville, they have an actual store. Address is: 24799 State Route 23S.
BTW - If you never been vaccinated for or had mumps....Now might be as good of time as any. Mom was here day before yesterday and was playing with the baby. Spent the night in a hotel, then went on up to the farm. Stayed in the hotel last night and as she was eating supper realized her jaw was swollen. Got home and went to doc. Sure enough, she's got mumps. Probably contracted it from the kids at church. Incubation is about 16 days. Now we're all watching the baby to make sure he doesn't get them. They don't get their first MMR until they're a year old. He's only 3 weeks. Had them on one side as a kid and grandma figured she was immune and never had her vaccinated when the vaccine came out. Dad's not been vaccinated either. Has never had mumps either. But at 79 yrs and being that he was around me and the cousins when we had them, he's most likely immune. I was vaccinated but still got them. Had chicken pox and mumps on right at same time. Just got over that and got mumps on left side. They're saying that anyone born from '63 to'69 with killed or unknown type of MMR vaccine, be revaccinated if they have not had mumps.

I keep my first aid, advanced aid and emergency meds in an old steel 20MM mortar can. Wanted something tough to protect it, lol.
Two things I included was a pair of suture kits and a can of blue lotion wound spray...it's good stuff.

We had him right up until you mentioned, "teat dip"... Gotta remember he's been batchin' it for quite a while now and ain't got the greatest attention span, lolol. I've got two half-pints of iodine also in my farrier kit; it's good stuff for hoof rot. Gonna have to get some into my med kit when I get home. By the way; it's great stuff for athlete's foot if you don't mind having red toes, lol.

VERY BEST thing for athlete's feet and jock itch is fresh cow manure. Can't recall the name of the organism, but it takes care of that fungus fast.
