This winter I added a 30MM red dot scope to my settup....I got tired of looking for my peep site and lining it up with my 2 post front site.....the eyes just couldnt do it and I was all over the place......now I have to sight the scope in and learn to keep that red dot from dancing in front of my eye.....anyone use one???...

Yep, got one on my twenty gauge. I posted a little about it in the shotgun section. They are definetly easier to see through but you must resist the temptation to move your head around. It seems that it will work no matter where you place your eye in relation to the scope but it doesn't. You will see this at the range. It's more forgiving then a regular scope but not that much.

By the way. How did you get it mounted to a bow?

I had the red dot scope already mounted on my shotgun....but I wanted one to help my sights with the bow, so I searched for a company that sold bow mounts.....they advised me they would have to prefabricate a mount at a large cost because they didnt have one which would fit my scope....they recommended that I should try BSA, where I originally got the red dot scope, and sure enough, not only did they have a mount, but they had a mount and the same 30MM red dot scope on sale for the same price it would have cost me for the scope itself, so I jumped on it....now I can put the original scope back on my shotgun, or use it elsewhere......

The good news believe it or not, it finally stopped yesterday...had to get someone to cut the grass, so I could at least walk out of my house....the bad news is, its too muddy where I have my targets, so I'll promise you that I'll get back to you with some info in a short short time.....

Well I got to shoot the other day, and was a bit eratic, and lost a couple of arrows, which doesnt say much since I had the same experiences with the last sighting system......Basically I shouldnt be giving any reports on the new scope for a bit until I get my basics down....as this was actually the first year that I've used a bow.....and basically learning by myself... I was around the target, but not in a good kill area....its a combo of my inexperience and a little tweeking of the scope....... I cant afford to join the two hunting clubs around here because the cost is too prohibitive for me to pay....so I'm going to be in a slow process of learning....just reading a bunch of books, thats all thats keeping me close....I hope to give you a better report later....

Now just exactly where is the "break even point" expressed in lost arrows versus the cost of admission to a country club?

Hey, the more arrows you lose, the more you get to go back to the sporting goods store and buy MORE STUFF! ;D

Hey guys I talked with a youngster last night that sounds pretty sharp with the bow. I asked him to drop in and give us some pointers. He agreed and I see he has registered. When you see him give him a rousing welcome. Time we old farts started building in some protege's here to take over during our demise!
