She got what she wanted, now the kind of "wood" I need has to be from a forest full of trees.

You got a chain saw? I have a red maple, a Catalpa (huge one) I'm fixin' to fell. They say the Catalpa is ideal for carving. The maple is probably a little over a foot thick with maybe six or so chord in it.

Santa, I'll make you a deal. Our little yard is getting way too big to tackle with our spit-and-sputter push mower. Three acres is killing me get done before the mowing needs started again.
You bring me a good running riding mower with a seat big enough for my hind end, and I'll let you take some wood from our place over to Major. He'll have to saw it spec's though.
Deal???

That's right! And I'm sending out the Christmas (post)cards now before the price of stamps goes up again!! I'm doing them "green recession" style. If you save the fronts (pictures) of the cards you received last year, you can address them with a hand written note or greeting and send them at the cheaper postcard rate.

I must be a "super redneck" because the lights are still up at my house and I ain't taking them down because I didn't put them up. They came with the house when I bought it.

Guess I'm bordering on that "super redneck" status. Remember those big, molded plastic light-up Christmas lawn ornaments that were popular in the '70s?? Well, I stopped by a yard sale this morning and came away with 6 toy soldiers, 2 candle sticks, a snowman, and Santa. Until I get somewhere to store them, they are sitting out in the yard.

Might as well keep 'em in the yard. Mom's got a four foot tall Easter Bunny in her flower bed that's been out there for about six years.
We don't do lights because we're so far off the road, but there's a half dozen or so Christmas Angels still up in her living room too!

Dear Santa,
I've tried to be a good girl this year. But they don't pay me enough to be very good. I've been baking cookies for you all year long.
I'm working on building that calf shed I've been wanting. So, Santa could you find room in your sleigh this year for that Jersey heifer I've really, really, really, really wanted?
Next year, maybe I'll have a big glass cream line milk to go with those cookies.
Love, Faith
