;D It opened up here in Florida on July 30th down in the South part of the state and will open up in my zone on September 17th.
My little girly-pal huntin' buddy Tonya Timm, also web-mistress for Heirloom Game Calls, got an arrow through the chest of a fat six pointer this past weekend. It actually had 3/4" brow tines, which by my count makes it an eight point, but since the tines didn't measure a full inch, the WMA check stationed tagged it out as a six point. I go by the, "if you can hang a ring on it" rule, lol.
I'm awful proud of her! ;D ;D ;D

Haha, funny you should ak... She's been giving me hell! For several years now she and I have had a running gamble. The first one that scores a kill during archery season wins a box of cookies. Last year she won for the first time with a 90 lb doe, now this year she wins again, lol. Every time she makes a kill during the season she calls me from her treestand and I do the same for her, lol. It's fun! Last year she never collected cause she wanted to upgrade, sort of a double or nothing on the bet. I took the deal andshe arrowed a hog the next weekend, so I owe her a chaeklit cake still from last year and now a box of softbatch cookies to go with it, lol. I'll get 'em in the mail to her soon! ;D

Last weekend I had a small, 100 lb, come from behind me on my right. I had to stand and turn to even think about a shot and when I did he ran. Dang paraniod little things.
This evening I had a bear come from my right going left. At about 25 yards I flipped the safety off my crossbow and put the red dot from the scope right behind the front leg. Good bear of about 150+ pounds standing perfectly broadside at 25 yards and I have a rock steady rest and a perfect sight picture.........

For those that don't know, killing a sow that has cubs is illegal in tn. so I let her go and enjoyed watching them for a few minutes.

I thought I'd feel wrong sitting out in the hog blind by myself, but as I sat there looking out at them pretty woods all I could do was smile thinking how much Chicken had loved these same woods. she was in my heart and on my mind and I figure her and my old grandaddy's was lookin' down and prolly taking bets on whether or not I'd miss, lol. I didn't miss...and got about a hundred and sixty pound boar hog to ride home in the back of the truck with me. I didn't choke up none thinking about my best lil hunting buddy; she was still there with me. Anyway, 160# black boar, 40yd standing head shot with the Colt Python .357 revolver firing Federal Premium 125gr JHP'.

She is the one that likely took that pig&bear or at the very least guided your aim John

Snake he never would have shot that pig if it weren't black! Noooooo, hampshire pink or even ferrel calico he would have let slide! Hey, I guess it is now legal to shoot your monkey in Ohio if it has herpes. Gonna be demanding the misses gets a blood test right soon.
