I keep rubbing my head against the door frames, pissing on myself and then rolling in some mud. My neck is swelled up to twice it's normal size and I walk around sniffing the air. I get a scent and I follow it. (Damn near got me thrown in jail at the mall in St Louis the other day) Keep scraping up little patches of grass in the yard and check them every morning and night for scent!

The early ML ;D antlerless deer (doe) season started today. Is anyone here hunting in PA during this season, other than myself. I won't get out until Monday AM. Work dictates my time in the woods. I've done my preseason checking. Now, if the ladies will show up on time, the party can begin.

Our early muzzleloader season (3rd weekend of October) just ended. I saw several deer and a coyote. Unfortunately they all escaped with their lives. One of the two bucks I saw had a nice rack. If only he would have been closer. Well, its back to the bow.

Sorry you missed, CG. I was lucky enough to finally score my first bow-hit this past Sunday evening. I was hunting deer, but a gray fox appeared so i shot him instead. ;D Unfortunatley, I lost it in dense briars. I hate shooting something and losing it. It feels so wasteful.

Well every morning have some of them pretty Does here in the yard but wife thinks they are her pets so went to the lease to do some cleaning up around camp and things look good there. Hope the one that I let walk last year shows up this year ;D. Went to the range today and shot the 25/06 and the 30/06. The 25/06 shot A five round group I could of covered up with A quarter. The 30/06 shot an impressive group also. These were loads Griz had me load when I was at his place and they shoot better than anything I have shot in these Rifles before. Havn't tried the 338 Mag loads yet as wife is getting me A new 4x14 Leupold scope for it for my birthday(I'mm not suppost to know that) If it shoots anything like the other two I am going to be A very happy person ;D. and I will have the 600 yard deer rifel Griz said I would have. Going to do A lot of shooting with it and then when Mr. Big Boy walks out instead of watching him through my Bino's and drooling all over the front of my jacket he will be in the back of my truck ;D.

Got out in the PA early ML season. This is really only a misnomer. After the first few days, then senior and junior can hunt antlerless deer using highn power rifles or what ever they choose to use. Monday and 1/2 day tuesday were rainy and misty, but I didn't see a lady. Saturday was perfect and I didn't see anything then either, almost. I witnessed something I hope I never see again. I was on a stool watching the hollow and far woods from the high bank of a gas line. At about 10:30 AM I here some verbal commotion from about 100+ yards on my side of the power line. Then I see two people in orange step out onto the gas line and start up the hill. They saw me as I motioined to allow them my location, so they would not have an accident with me. They stopped. Dad had no gun but was with junior as guide and responsible person as required in PA for juniors. Jr had a high power Remington pump actionwith a scope. Dad asked if I'd seen anything, I said no as I notice Jr playing tennis with a Queen Annes Lace with his rifles muzzle. And it was pointed right at my midsection. I quickly asked him to please relocate the muzzle, at which dad proceeds to tell me to not correct his son. His son says' "Dad, I'm bored. Let's go home!" Dad says, "Shut up let's go". I stood there stunned that this guy had NO words for his son who had been reckless with a firearm. With my stomach churning, I watched them until I could no longer see them. Looked like a guy leading an old dog to the pen. It took me at least a half hour to calm down my nerves. I hope there are no more like this guy out there. I went home at 11:45 AM, happy I'm still able to talk about this incident, but stll a little shaken. Ruined my early season.

Same here. I see perhaps a dozen deer each morning on the roadside on the way to work, but can't BUY a deer when I'm hunting them. You think they have a copy of the regs.? ;D

I think the sorry little shietes know where and when they are safe. I know deer don't have reasoning power nor logic but them soon get to know what areas and when they are safe.

Got # 2 for this year last night at about 6:00 yesterday was the opener for Black Poweder season in Va. She stepped out of the trees about 100 yards out and hit the ground on impact, love the triple 7 powder and Power belt 245 grain bullets.
