Oh them's just like a grouper! Bet they taste great, bound to have a thick slab of meat on each side. Ain't nuttin' much tastier than a fried grouper sammich with cheese n tartar sauce and ate right out on the edge of the bay. We used to catch 'em off the Skyway Pier with a rod n reel while waiting on the tides to change and the mullet to run. A fried mullet sammich is prolly next best! Dad and grandaddy always had a coleman stove with them when we'd go on them overnight trips. I'd give a awful lot to be able to do it all over again...

All of them are normaly 1-3 pounds each.
Rudders are fillet with skin on. Catfish type skin. Normaly grilled with skin side down.
Vermilion are fillet completely as are the rest. I'm thinking of making a mess of fish sticks.
I had a hammerhead chase my bait but not bite but many sharks were caught by others.
My wife and children got to see their first wild dolphins and a sea turtle.
Planning on a 25 hour trip in June.
We were 3 hours and 60 miles offshore in about 200' - 250' of water.

Going out again June 4th and 5th on the overnight boat. Just Meghan and I this trip as I don't think the wife will like 25 hours on the boat despite her claims otherwise.

Ain't got no fishin' done lately, but dad thawed out a couple of sacks of the catfish we caught last January and fried them rascals up with grits, pork n beans, hush puppies, and iced tea. Damned if that ain't got me wanting to get back on that river bank. I think I could eat fried fish five days a week and never get tired of it!

Well guys, I've decided to call it adieu. It's been a great 6 years on here. But, as the only female who ever posts, I got to thinking it was really odd. I have absolutely no beefs with any of you - individually or collectively. You've all been great friends and have helped me out of more predicaments than should be allowed. I'm just trying to get my own life back in order now. I'm still going to be on Facebook, but have just cut 120 or so friends from there. If you were dropped and want to be added back, just friend request me. Wishing you all the best, Faith

Those are my fishing buddies, the middle girl doesnt care for fishing that much..she doesn't have the patence for it..she would rather go exploring catching bugs frogs and the likes...she likes to fish if they are really biting but if it slacks off then she's on her way to find something else to do...

Daddy and I are planning on hitting the river for catfish later on this week. I'm going to rig up a mess of crawfish traps while we're out I'm going to set a dozen or so of them in the feeder creeks and see if I can get enough for a decent boil. Ought to be able to atleast get enough for an etoufe or gumbo maybe.
