Florida??? Where in Florida??? Why wasn't I notified??? I see how he is! Next time I'm in Shreveport, I'll keep it to myself! Have fun at the lake kiddo and don't get the Lil' Princess sunburned. Something in that don't wash off, like Bullfrog ought to do the trick. I know you already know that, but I just finished an article on skin cancer prevention and the most common method recommended by each of the dermatologists I interviewed was the consistant use of sunscreen from a very early age. So, sunscreen's kind of been on my mind this last few days. Geez! Wait till your Ol' Man gets back. I'm gonna bust his chops for this one. ;D

BUST AWAY Boy.... ;D I got back this veening about 5. I know I was in Florida, but a good 8 hours from you too. Chris lives near Pensacola in Navarre, almost at the foot of the bridge. Miss Kathy and I had a great time though. The kids both had to work Friday night and Kathy and I took us a walk on the beach and got everyone a bucket of KFC. Figured it would be good no matter when they came in. Saturday, Chris and Lauren took us to see the aircraft Chris flies, (AC-130), you wouldn't recognize it Paws. Then they took us out on a party charter boat foir the afternoon. We got some red snapper, white snapper and trigger fish. A total of about a dozen fish. Not bad, not great but most of all we had fun and no sunburn. Sunday, Chris and I went to try and catch some Red fish and the ladies went to the flea markets. I caught my first and second Red fish. They were 22 and 24 inches each and I caught them on my lil' ol' spinning rod with 10 lb test around a bunch of old torn up dock pilings. I broke off on about 5 or 6 before I got the first one in. I GOT to do that again, it was worth the sunburn on the tops of my legs. ;D OK, here you go Toby, next Florida trip is already in the first stages of planning. We're hoping to go down there again Labor Day Weekend. On that trip we might even get tough and work our way down to my Mom and Papa's place in Largo. It all depends on how the plans work out as Mom and Papa may decide to come up to Chris's for that weekend also. After that it won't be until after January that we get to see Chris again. OH wow, I almost forgot, here's the beer and a barrel of ice. How's that ol' Sow coming along???

Okay my friend, you're forgiven ;D I thought you was at your folk's place in Largo. I figured you left me stuck out here in paradise with a sow comin' fresh and you was down in my back yard playin' in the sand box! Redfish? Ain't they a blast? That sow dropped yesterday morning and she's meaber now than ever. When you go to feed her, just stand way back and throw it in. If you get to close she's gonna try to get ya and might stomp on one of them little suckers. Glad you brought the ice, the cooler was about to run out. I salted it good but it don't last forever. Just set that beer over here and I think I'll pop one open if you don't mind. Happy to hear you had a good trip!

NOW TOBY!!!! You know I aint gonna go to Largo and not try get together with you and the kids. At least for a little fishin' or a BBQ. That Sow dropped eh?? Cool, in about 3 or 4 weeks the eating is gonna be tasty. The way I do them when they get that way Toby is to just toss the whole bag of feed in there about every 3 days. She gets to tear something up and eat at the same time. At least we don't have to sweat trying to get her water in this heat. Keep you eyes open now for other hogs around this area. Them little porkers get to squealing and the others will come to protect them and the boars will come in to take them out. They know that after she stops nursing the sow will breed again. There are some real beastys in this area too, 300 to 400 lb. You know, them sporty hogs. If we have to take one out the folks at the church up on the road are happy to have have it. I usually give them the big ones like that. They split the meat up and have them a regular ol' revival cookout. Works out good for all, They keep an eye on the cars and trucks for us and they get some meat out of it too. For some of them folks it's a real help too. By the way, has anyone seen Rouge lately??? I figured he would stop on in too.

Boy what a mess! Them hogs done rooted the place all over and turned over the darn still. It's clear Brian ain't had it fired up in some time, but I better get that pot leveled off again for he gets here or he's liable to bust a stitch fussin'.
At least all of this rootin's helped knock down the weeds and such. A little bit of trimming here and there and it'll be just right.
The skinning poles sagging pretty bad, I'd best go find a stout cypress pole to replace it with, from the looks of all the hog sign, we'll be needing it.
Sure is quiet out here today, almost lonesome, but a good kind of lonesome. Like walking into a church on Monday morning. Peaceful.
I'd better get this old skillet scoured out and seasoned before he get's here too. He sees rust on it, he'll lay it upside my head I bet. Lotsa work to do and lotsa gear to haul in.
Heck, I dang near got lost finding my way in. That old sweetgum tree your supposed to turn left at is laying down in the weeds. Tornado most likely.
Well, I'd best get busy when he shows up, I don't want him dissappointed. ;D

HEYYYYY!!!! Check this out!!!! The place looks really good. Somebody been here since them storms come through. Well, that's good, I can't stay, Miss Kathy finds out I snuck the Pirough out and down the creek and she'll skin me. I figured I'd ease on down here for a little "medicine" and some wild onions. Got me a little jug hid up here in the fork of the meat pole tree. Wait now, meat pole is gone, bottle is too. Who ever did the clean up around here must have had some sore muscles. I just pop outta the stump. Here we go. Lets put another up in the tree again for the camp fairy too. Man, the place looks great!!!! It'll be a few weeks but I gotta get me a new hammock for snoozing and ease on down as soon as I'm allowed. I better get on back now though, Miss Kathy is gonna wipe the kitchen floor with me when I get back up there....

AWSOMELY beautiful. Looks better in the picture than when your dodgeing your way through them at 400 mph too. I hate it when you loose an engine 50 ft off the ground and your plumb full of fuel and cargo. And that was in a water burner 135..... ;D

I saw it Paws and got homesick right away. I do not know exactly where that picture is from but I do know it is from the three country corner, Switzerland - Germany - Austria.
Is it a wonder that we in Switzerland say people are citizens by birth of their country but you are a Swiss by the grace of God? ;D
I am sure glad my wife took me to British Columbia, her birth place, here it looks as close to my homeland as I could wish for. Snow caped mountains, vast forests and crystal clear lakes and rivers. The only other part of North America equally appealing to me are Washington state, Montana and Colorado.
Beautiful, Awesome, Nature at its best. ;D Thanks for posting that picture.

WOW!!!! Look at this camp site. A few afternoon showeres and the swamp comes alive. The catfish are doing good in their pen and the hogs have kept it pretty well mowed down here. Got about a month until it gets to be hunting season here but the fishing is going to kick in pretty soon. I'll bet I can get Toby to come out giging and bow fishing. If'n we can get a few nice Gar fish, I'll show him how to fillet them out and maybe get Paws to make a big pot of rice for Gar rice. Them city folk don't know what they are missing. I think I'll do that, get all the stuff together and have a fish fry. Catfish, white perch and bream. Get some of them Gar and make some mock scallops and gar rice. A big bag of taters and fix them up a couple different ways. Tater salad, skillit fried, deep fried and baked twice on the fire. Now we need some veggies too. Greens, and carrots. Miss Kathy likes brussel sprouts, I'll stick with some cabbage steamed along with some sausage seasoning. For desert we can fix up some of them apples and pears, saute'd in butter with cinnimon. Now let's get that Keg rolled over into the hollow cypress and set that case of jugs by it. That'll be enough exercise for today. A few more trips and I'll have us just about stocked except for perishables. I think I'll take mae a little nap before heading back to the house, just an hour or so. Better make a list too. Might need to bring the DDD to haul all the stuff in. Anyways, time to snooze.................................................................

Damn!!! I over slept.....made like Rip VanWinkle...... Huntin' starts the first of October. I figure maybe Toby will be down so I best get some feeders and blinds put out. Give them critters a chance to get used to them. Good thing about hogs being around is yoou don't need to rototill for a food plot. All I gotta do is put up this hot wire and they'll leave it alone. The deer just step on over it but the hogs get zapped if you put it right. I just hope someone don't step on it and get juiced on the way in. My luck would be Toby will pee on it and I'll have to stay out of his reach for a day or so.....But it would be funny ;D

No worries about me leaking on the wire, I'm well aquainted with hot-wire! ;D
Yep, I'll be down shortly. I just have to get a few things ready. I've got a couple of buckets of Toby's wonder lure fixed up for them porkers and some c-o-l-d beer!!!!

You know Toby, I bet we could plant some nanners down here and they would grow. Then when we need nanner son=mething all we gotta do is pick some. Good idea huh? Hey, If you don't mind, would you grab a handfull of mint from the plant on your way down? I'm plumb out. I got tea, water,, shoney, lemon, orange but no mint. I'm still staying clear of the beer for a while yet. Gotta get used to the new motor first ya' know....
