170 this morning. If this continues I've dropped my A1C from 11 to about 8. Not much more to go now. Increasing the fiber, liquids and busting my ass to maintain a rigid schecdule for meals and meds. I'm betting I'll be in the 120 range within a week now. It is time to start carrying candy in case the mutha bottoms out. I think if I level off I'll try to bump it again with another fast. I had a double big bowl of Ramen noodles last night for dinner augmented with a dropped egg, good portion of greens, a little chile sesame oil and a side of whole wheat crackers and tuna salad. Breakfast was three or four of these crackers and about a TBsp of the left over tuna salad, a cup of corn flakes with 1/4 raspberries and milk and coffee of course.

Mars have you tried the glutin free pastas...some are really pretty good tasting and they are not the white carbs that suck the life out of you...might work for you...

I think the proper term is "durham" wheat for the harder variety. It is supposed to be a "slow carb" (what the heck ever that is) that is good for the body and doesn't spike the glucose. I found a bread at Aldi's that is a white wheat. The numbers are better than most bread for carb count.

Carb wise rice is worse than pasta. Sensitivity to spikes does vary among folk but generally pasta doesn't work too bad. Spaghetti squash is really super. It even tastes good. It has excellent fiber, flavor, vitamins, yellow veggie with kerotene.... can not say enough good things. My sweetness yesterday PM was 126, this morning 177. ;D

Don't worry...he didn't ask me to go to dinner either. I been laying low on the sugars and carbs and usually don't check my glucose, but this morning before breakfast it was 160. I gotta get me some self control too! Tightening up on the diet.

Phil, check out the rice pastas..they are mostly made from brown rice, the carbs are less for these than actually whole grain rice (traditionally prepared)...anyhow glad to see your #s coming down ;D ;D ;D ;D...keep'em there or I'll have Girly Girl come out there and kick your butt...

It wasn't dinner. It was breakfast. It wasn't great, except for the waitress. The freakin bacon and sausage links were really sad for some reason. Bacon waas overdone, greasy and all broken up. Sausage just tasted weird. I think the cost of everything is affecting them. I did have a couple strips of top round which was exceptional. It was perfect medium rare and very tender and loaded with flavor. Marty did a good job standing in for you Sharon. He is sure a nice kid.

Finally getting back on here for a second. Breakfast was great! It ain't what you eat. It's who you eat it with. I forgot what Gallipolis looks like. Was good to have an excuse to leave the hill for a change. I do agree with you Phil. The food wasn't quite up to it's usual standards. Oh well. I guess even the best chefs in the world have their "off" days.

Nooooo, Breakfast is breaking fast, or the first meal of the day regardless of when it is eaten. We began our breakfast at about 0930. I was a tad late as usual. As Faith said, the company was great and it was good to see some smiling faces. Sure beats looking at cats and dogs. (I've actually started scratching behind my ear with my foot!) Went in to my regular doctor this morning. He gnawed off what was left of my posterior. He is happy that I'm still on a slow weight loss track. Happy that I'm keeping up the exercise. But he is really pissed that I won't stay on my proper diet. He says I can procede with the swimming. He says if my legs cramp to "dog paddle" to the shallow end or the side! He also says he is glad I did not invite him to my last Memorial Day party!
